I think it's because all IEMs can be gaming Iems. At least with analog connections.

There are definitely some true wireless earbuds that have low latency modes and RGB and our advertised as gaming.

But I think gamers would be fine with tin t2s, or kbear ks1 or something

Well these things have planned obsolescence anyways. I think the odds are the wear and tear. Probably won't kill the product before the battery goes.

You should be able to handle a little sweat but yes it will add some wear and tear to the pads. Unless it's an incredible amount of sweat. It probably won't f****** with the electronics.

When I was in a convention some people also said that I was lucky to not have a too big head for headphones, but I really feel sad to feel pain with it, they where so comfortable when I tried them, now I'm questioning if they where the best choice, because I really thought that they would be the most comfortable ANC headphone that I could get (even in musical performance is no match ofc) :(

Dhrme sometimes does reviews where they try to present the quality of the active noise cancellation. I don't know how effective that is on YouTube, but they might be able to help you out with data that is not merely taking their word for it.

As a general rule, I feel like most name brand, higher end TWS have passable active noise cancellation these days. It's always hard to rely on anecdotes because people get super partisan.

I think the idea that we are in a new modern era of IEMs is mostly marketing gobledygook.

It's designed to try to get people to buy newest stuff at the highest cost they will ever be. Even though, this stuff doesn't have software or batteries and the real value proposition is buying stuff that didn't come out in the last year

But the algorithm, and the affiliate links don't reward that time of judicious consumer approach.

So we have to pretend that we're in some golden age and you have to buy stuff that came out in the last three months.

I don't really think they have been forgotten. At least not by regular users. They have been forgotten by YouTubers because they need to sell you the newest stuff from the same company.

They create a fallacy then all of a sudden IEM tech has never been better and you have to buy stuff made in the last year or you're missing out

I think the opposite is true. I think the best value proposition is buying something like tin t2. Would you can now off and find on discount.

I absolutely love my K702s and I pair them with the Topping E30II and L30II combo which should be pretty similar to yours. I'm waiting for my second pair though because the right speaker on the first one died within 3.5 months of use. Shame.

Edit: just wanna add a question, am I the only one impressed by the level of detail and clarity the K702s bring? Those things sound more detailed to my ears than headphones that are much more expensive, even with that huge soundstage they have.

UPDATE 1 (copied to the OP)

Amazon had the XS on for £393 ($474) with free same day delivery so I couldn't resist. I'm a firm believer in the burn-in theory, especially so with these as it is actually recommended, so they're going into a drawer with an old mobile phone playing a radio station for a few days before I make any judgements.

The BTR5 can drive them in SE, but only just. I can easily take the volume up to max and still listen comfortably so, given that the Qudelix is often mentioned in the same breath as the XS, I've ordered one and a 2.5mm balanced cable. Hopefully they'll arrive by the time the burn-in is done, then I'll let you know what I think.
