Other tips worth trying, particularly if you have issues with retention, are Azla Xelastec, Azla Crystal and Moondrop Spring Tips.

These are all wide bore tips like Spiral Dots but at least for me, all have substantially better retention. Spring Tips are my overall favorite, and they are also much cheaper than Spiral Dots ($6 here for 3 pairs, $12 for international). They are all somewhat "tacky" in terms of the material and this helps keep it in, if I pull them out they resist a bit while Spiral Dots are quite slippery for me.

Xelastec actually change shape with body temperature and mold to your specific ear shape.

With any of these, getting the right size and something that fits well with the specific IEM (and this varies by IEM) is essential.

>It will happen in a song

only in one specific song? I have heard recordings of songs with crackle and distortion, static noise and whatnot and it wasn't my headphones doing this. It was just me being able to spot errors in recordings.

Try different devices without your elgato, see if it persists.

I cant agree with that, I think the HD560s is in nearly everything better than the HD660s. The Hd560s has bigger soundstage, better imaging and better bass extension and sounds overall way more correct/neutral to my ears. The build quality and comfort are better on the HD660s tho.

I love the HD660s for movies, podcasts, videos, everything thats vocal focused. It has a kinda warm/neutral tuning that is just easy to listen to.

But for music and especially gaming i prefer the hd560s. The hd560s has so much better soundstage, imaging and depth perception than the hd660s, its not even close. The HD660s can image very well but its small stage and relaxed treble make it quite bad for gaming, especially if a lot of things are happening at the same time.

The jack can give out a bit of a crackle when there's a bit of movement. Often, stuff can build up on them over time but they can be a bit crackly straight out of the factory. Breath on the jack and give it a wipe with your jumper or a cloth a few times. It might help.

What makes a different material or thickness of pad more premium? Not trying to simp for the brand but the OEM pad was designed that way for a reason. Not saying that it sounds the best way possible with that pad and that it's sacrilegious to mess with it but other pads will sound different for better or worse depending on your taste. The OEM pad is how Sennheiser wanted it to sound/feel.
