Nice, I’m running mine through a ifi zen dac v2 right now with my pc as my source. Looking at other options with some money I have left over from Christmas. I was going to add the Zen Can but then researching that led me down the rabbit hole… I’m so lost

Reply to HD800s earpad shootout. From left to right: DEKONI SHEEPSKIN vs ZMF LAMBSKIN vs OEM VELOUR …… the winner is … ZMF. Extra softness, a hint of extra bass, no clampy by ostuniman
I might have to try the ZMF velour. I bought lambskin pads from Amazon that are better padded and isolate better (more bass) than the stock velour, but I miss the velour fabric feel vs leather.

I use a Bifrost 2/64 & Jot 2 stack now. Wanted balanced for my planars and for a long cable run I do from my DAC to my stereo.

Still on our modi/magni stack with the 660s? Or did you switch to a different combo?

This post has been removed. Please note the following rule:
>Rule 2: Ask purchase help questions in the Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at https://reddit.com/r/headphones/about/sticky > >Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at /r/headphones/about/sticky instead of a new post.
You may also use r/headphoneadvice but please search their resources and familiarize yourself with their rules first before posting.
What questions are considered purchase advice?
-
A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.
-
Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.
-
Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").
Why does this rule even exist?
-
In short, this is a large subreddit with a high volume. We want to help, but it's important to keep things organized to keep the sub fun. Thanks for your understanding.
-
A more detailed explanation about this rule can be found here.
What if the link doesn't work?
- The post can usually be found on the top r/headphones, and titled Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk.

Definitely! There’s much to be said for buying a popular gear setup. Most of the time it’s a good price to performance ratio!

It's usually shit, worse than your PC/laptop or phone. At least in Peavey Bandit 112.

Would you buy a iPhone 5 or 14? Wouldn’t the newer models be better?

100% and I agree with you on new headphones before rolling source equipment. Some people care about audio to an OCD level and others couldn't be bothered.
I was discussing how headphone and speaker presentation are very different with pros and cons of each. The difference between them is much more than over-ears and IEMs. But the good thing is the choice is not binary!
