I have used my FiiO K5 pro ESS and the TA26 and I think they are very similar to each other. The TA26 improves the low end a bit and maybe, just maybe makes everything a little more dynamic. But the changes are so subtle that there is almost no difference if I'm honest.

Also, the TA-26 suffers from potentiometer crackling, an issue nobody talks about in their fancy reviews. I swapped it once for a better potentiometer, soldering and all that, but the issue persists.

I still love this amp, but it sure is not what the reviews say. Tube rolling makes not much difference on the TA-26. Tung-Sol, EH Gold, RCA NOS, Foton 6H8C's from the 60s, JJ 6SN7.. They all sound very similar to each other. The NOS tubes are a little bit less punchy and flatter, but still so close to the rest that any differences are highly debatable.

Just picked these up and am experiencing something similar. It's not outright uncomfortable but there is definitely some pressure and I have to move or adjust a little bit every once in a while. This totally went unnoticed in the store.

Assuming the same efficiency, the difference in sensitivity of a 1500 ohm headphone and a 600 ohm one is 4 dB, which is probably less than you think. Or almost 8 dB from a 250 ohm one.

Hifiman Sundara ($299), planar open back headphones with great soundstage and tight bass. I’m sensitive to treble, but these hits just the right limit before feeling a bit “peaky”. Personally think these cans punch well above it’s price point, and I prefer them over my HD 6XX.

This is not basic. This is end-game. This headphone is my dream but too expensive for me, let alone those devices under it. Enjoy it :-).

Fun fact: BA drivers can be of arbitrary impedance, even something like 20KΩ is possible, as this saves power for application in hearing aids

I have s12's with a 2 pin utws5. They can't rest on my ear without pulling the earbuds just barely enough out of my ear to break the seal. I would recommend the mmcx utws5's with a mmcx to 2 pin adapter. This will allow the earbuds to pivot so you can rest the utws5 on your ears like they're designed for.

I have other 2 pin iems that work fine with the 2 pin utws5. Just the s12's give me this issue.
