Sure this should work.

Reply to HD660s Harman Target sounds way worse? by SlowestSundew7
I didn’t personally like the 660S EQd to Harman but Oratory’s Optimum Hi-Fi preset ended up being closer to my preference. Slight bass boost (though still rolled off a bit) and a small lift in the treble. Sometimes I’ll nudge the treble back to the stock tuning depending on what I’m in the mood for.

I tried this and no, it adds a lot of distortion, you only wanna do this to listen to your electric guitar

The good old 2017 days. I still have mine but they've just been outclassed by Moondrop and Salnotes Zero.

I have both the headphones you mentioned. The Hifimans are significantly better than the at m50x. However, you have to have decent quality audio files, source, interconnects, amplifier and solid support to allow the Hifimans to shine. Once you give them a good signal I’m sure you will hear a clear difference. Contrary to popular opinion you don’t need extra special hearing, you just need to pay attention to the quality of the entire reproduction chain.

My Sennheiser HD 414 has 2000 Ohms. But they are surprisingly easy to drive. I even get them to a listenable level with my phone

Reply to HD 600: Overhyped or impatience? by West-Steak-3959
In my opinion, they're overhyped. I have a pair, I used them exclusively for about a week after purchase but I find that they don't do anything better for me than my other (and cheaper) headphones, so now they're just sitting in my drawer as a spare.

Strongly agree. Prices have come way down on great kit for a number of years. How they measure, power and hold up is very impressive. And that's the thing, it's so economical, so easy to put a great rig together it makes some people think they must be missing something. Na. With today's gear, we arrive at greatness from the start. It's wonderful. Where we may push beyond this setup may be towards a particular house sound, nuances, tubes, beyond zero inky black noise floor, or a particular amp for iems or super difficult to drive HPs. Or a plethora of other features, Bluetooth capable, displays, remotes, inputs/outputs, etc. If you're happy with this... Be happy. You're not behind the curve at all.

The grill and headband are metal. They are quite light, though.

Reply to HD 600: Overhyped or impatience? by West-Steak-3959
I've bought an HD600 and my previous daily driver was the Moondrop Aria. To my ears they are pretty close sonically, with the HD600 being only slightly better in almost every way (not including the fact they will sound different as it is a full-sized headphone vs an iem). Noticeably better though with vocals, jazz, and classical type of music.

Reply to Why I chose Sennheiser HD 800 S, musings on headphone selection in general, is reading reviews useful, etc by jb___1
My deciding factor on the HD800S was that I am yet to see a post about bad build quality for them. I would have liked to get the Arya but too many bad stories about hifiman.
Maybe if I lived in the states and could get easy support, but not here in Oz.

Man, I really wonder if I will need more than a Samsung dongle once my Hexas arrive. These FiiO things, owner of a K5 myself, are usually very awesome. The Qudelix is just as great and intriguing, but I don't know if all of this is necessary, aside from the convenience that Bluetooth would bring.

I've found this AutoEQ convolver preset to be much better than oratory's.
Tightens up the sub-bass but leaves most everything else stock.

Your next step should be to try some EQ. The HD560S is really good with EQ.

Reply to ATH-M40x with some chinese goodies for 25€ (cowhide pads + adapter) by sunn031
I found the ZMF cowhides not worth the price and shipping, Brainwavz offered localy only "vegan" products, so I ended up ordering from China and I'm pleased with the decision. The second "upgrade" should be a cable (cmon, 3 meters for desktop is way too much), and with the little adapter I am not limited to brand specific.
