Most DAC/amp differences are very subtle with most headphones. The main differences in DACs from what I've experienced are differences in the low-pass filter (and those differences become less important the higher the sample rate), and I've read about differences in DACs stemming from how they handle intersample overs in the music (which you can avoid by setting a negative digital preamp gain).
You experience is not unusual, there's like a post every week about how some person can't hear a difference in DACs that they have. Now that you have experience, you can make choices accordingly. Since you know that you don't hear any difference in DACs, you don't need to spend more money on them unless they have some feature that you want!

Imo, if you can handle the treble mound of the DT770s (or grados idk haven't tried them yet), you should be able to handle most of the treble thrown against you.

Sadly the Moondrop chus doesn't come with replacements. So if you made a blunder like mine, you might need to replace it. I didn't because it was too fussy to wait another 2 weeks to replace it.

One reason I love my Etymotic Evo are that they are easy to clean and come with filters. Some day I’ll try Moondrop, but I hope I don’t have issues like this.

Your links are getting filtered out. But yes, again. Those are removable. I don't know how or why you aren't able to.

Just remove them. They have been removable since they began production.

Did you buy them used?
Beyer pads are honestly some of the easiest pads to remove, clean, replace, etc.

Why would someone GLUE the pads on at the factory, when the entire headphone is assembled without glue????
Mate, honestly, I think you are doing something VERY wrong!
Watch a YouTube tutorial if you cannot follow Beyerdynamics written instructions.

They should be removable. the earpads are designed the same way for all of the dt series products 770 880 and 990s. I would say provide pics to prove otherwise. You need a knife or my personal favorite, an I-fixit kit plastic tool to pry on it the earpad lip that goes over the headphone cups

im send a vid dude, someone glued them at the factory then, its tearing the paint if i pull it as hard as i need to.
TheYAK223 OP t1_j4gw9i6 wrote
these are the pro versions of that matters on the removable aspect.

I’ve been tempted by the Crinacle “Blessing2:Dusk”. They seem pretty close to the Evo, which I already love, but just different enough that I’d consider it maybe worth buying.
