Yeah I don't often EQ unless it's something that can save the EQ like TWS. I do think they sound better than the Aria and galaxy buds pro, which were my main comparison for them. But other more expensive IEMs I do think still sound better

I never EQ'd them since I use IEMs for portable use and just use a dongle and my iPhone. But I'm glad to hear the issue with drums can be resolved!
Lack of fatigue is the most important aspect for sure

HD560s have a small soundstage still. K 701/702 is a few steps more open, but Edition XS is probably the cheapest that sounds really open.

Yeah they do have dips from 4khz- through much of the lower treble, then it comes back up in the upper frequencies. Many important frequencies for drums do end up sounding a touch masked, although EQ seems to fix a lot of the timbre issues there. Otherwise on those tracks with drums yeah the resonance from drum hits do sound a touch muted, although still better than a lot of budget IEM which for me tend to be too boosted in those frequencies, causing fatigue to my ear.

Oh for sure, those things are probably Sennheiser's best, imo. At least in terms of tonality.
Enjoy them, they tend to last forever as well.

Interesting. Mine was through Amazon.ca and apparently at the time they had some stock in a warehouse in the US (or thought they did) and it showed "fulfilled by Amazon". Apparently the stock info was wrong and it took forever to get more and finally ship (plus there were some weird payment problems on their end). Now it shows fulfilled by Shenzhen and ships from China so I guess that was short lived.

True I really wasn't expecting the the p1 max to blow the t3+ out of the water haven't even bothered with testing them side by side, guess ill keep them as backup, and maybe ill try the dt200 at some point. Also thought the same about the t3+ vocals and compressed describes it well.

What is your impression of drums with them? Like real drums not drum machines e.g. Reflection by Tool , Rust in Peace... Polaris by Megadeth and Sunsets by Airbag.
Drums sounded wrong to me. They had an unnatural and plastic timbre caused by how fast the decay was. Using Crin's definition of plastic timbre describes them perfectly: > > Plastic timbre: Characterised by a hollow sound, sometimes also describes as a certain sense of weightlessness in the notes. This sometimes happens when the decay is unusually fast though is also exacerbated by a higher-frequency-biased tonality. Balanced armatures are its biggest offenders.

Otherwise a great set for $80. Nozzles are a bit large btw at 6.5mm.

Sounds like I made the right call then lol. I haven't heard the 650, and don't have any plans to, but I have heard the Rode NTH-100, which did sound overdampened and blunted.

Will see what the new Sennheiser headphones lineup will be. Their recent wireless offers was pretty meh. So I don't really trust in corporate bullshit statement they have released.

Trust me, I love them too. The HD700s were an impulse buy. I really like them, but not what I'm used to? But I think its illegal to not have a HD6-- series headphone so I'll have to see

To me, the HD 660s just do everything right. Nothing is too harsh, nothing seems blurry. It just sits comfortably in between.
It's up to you, I just love my 660s.

Implying they no longer have that history? The company is still run by the Sennheiser family. They actually had this to say about Sonova at time of sale:
“A partner who not only shares our passion for audio and a commitment to the highest product quality, but also very similar corporate values,” they write. “This is an excellent foundation for a successful future together.”

I'm glad you enjoy them. While I really liked what they sound like, I actually really enjoyed it, I couldn't wear them for longer than 20 minutes. The clamping pressure is so high and the headband got so uncomfortable that I had to send them back. It's really unfortunate.

Thanks for sharing. I’m looking to get something like this for IEMs on the go. I just hate the attached cable.
