I tried the HD600s, HD800s, Arya stealth and LCD X on a chord Hugo TT2. I really think they are not worth the money. You get something more open but not by much and it's not better just different. They were all very similar but the clarity and timbre on the HD600 were better than the LCD X for example. However the LCD X had better bass extension but to me this is less important. You should try a Chord DAC !

Not exactly. If you do the same on android phone it just works - you can have hi quality stereo audio + high mic quality.

I tested it on couple of BT headphones and also had the same problem as you and also was sooooooo disappointed AF. I specifically bought BT headphones at the beginning of the pandemic only to find out that during skype/teams call I have potato quality.

Turns out that if you want mic + stereo audio, there are 'teams certified' headphones, exactly the same models as regular BT headphones from various manufacturers, but they have also a dongle 'mimic' BT (I think it's 2,4GHz though?) to cheat that retarded bluetooth Windows implementation.

Personally I'd say the HD560s is a bit less neutral sounding than the HD600 because of its elevated treble and slightly distant sounding mids, although the bass and mid-bass balance is great and better than the HD600. I found that the presence boost and natural soundstage of the HD560s gives some instruments a boosted spatial sound to them, which you may or may not enjoy.

The HD600 in comparison is more forward and detailed sounding in the mids, with balanced treble that isn't hyped. It does lack sub bass and has a very slight mid-bass boost. All of which makes it sound a bit more closed in and analytical as a result. I use mine every day but the reason I like them is because they're a reliable boring workhorse as opposed to a fun or exciting sounding headphone.

Another headphone I'd recommend that is somewhere between a HD560s and HD600 is the AKG K612, which I think is AKG's best headphone by far.

I bought these on eBay for 60 bucks. They came in and they smelled bad. They were covered in dirt but I was able to restore them. I was wondering if the tip of the aux is detachable and if I could buy something for it. For all I know this could be cosmetic damage, but when plugged into my laptop only the right channel plays. When I plug it into my qudelix, both sides play. Idk what to do or how to replace this I already put in a decent amount of work restoring it but now I’m left a little sad

EQ is highly underrated IMO and I think honestly one of the first things people should consider with their existing headphones before buying another pair, unless there's a fit / comfort issue.

I had a similar experience with my HD 6XX. Night and day difference between stock and EQ'd and I wonder why / if I really need anything else.

EQ is the one thing that I've found makes truly "night and day" differences on a single headphone. I'm also glad you tweaked the EQ preset to your liking.

I once compared my EQed KSC75 to my EQed SR-L700mk2, and the Koss was really good. I did not expect it to be that good vs the Stax, because the stock KSC75 is difficult for me to listen to thanks to some sort of ringing at around 5K (ringing as in I hear something similar to microphone feedback at the trailing ends of some tones in that region). That went away with EQ and resulted in a very open and capable sound from a $15 pair of earphones.

That knowledge and experience did not prevent me from buying an even more expensive headphone later, so there's probably no hope for me anyways. But yeah, EQ is great!

There are quite a bit of discussions online regarding 660S and 700 drivers. Some say 660S is based on 700, but that doesn't mean it is the same driver. Others made measurements and say they have similar impedance and phase response, but then they don't sound alike at all.

I guess at end of the day, it is how they sound that matters, regardless of their driver design. Let us know your verdict when you have thoroughly compared them.
