Bought used 60e as the first step into open backs, loved it. Accidentally knocked it to the ground from my desk, right driver is a bit off. Bought a used 80e (which I got for cheaper than the 60e!) as the replacement. But then a friend abled to fixed the 60e, so I gave it to my gf. Absolute banger to watch movies or series together.

I wasn't wowed by them when I first got them, but going back to something else after using them for a while taught me how good they really are.

The "veil" is definitely noticeable and they require EQ to really show their potential.

I have some Headphones in m collection and still prefer the 560s for gaming. Out can Just get an amp If U need more Power. You could Go Zen Stack or topping amp or whatever you Like and have alot of Power.

As a /r/symphonicmetal fan, I completely agree with this.

HD 6x0s are old headphones made for old music. Said music genre was pretty much nonexistent at the time the HD 600 was released (as are many other modern genres that you mention), so it's obvious they weren't designed with that in mind. I prefer a number of newer and less expensive headphones.

I don't have a problem with people enjoying their 6x0s, I just want this kind of pretentious posts to stop.

Get another working headphone jack. You can cannibalise a cable you don't need or just buy one on Amazon.

Get a soldering iron, many cities also have stuff like makerspaces or something like that where you can borrow one.

Also, maybe get some heat shrink tubing.

Snip off the end of the cable, solder on the new jack, done.

Even if you were to buy a new soldering iron off of Amazon this entire thing is doable for like $20. Also, soldering really isn't hard even if you have never done it before.

It’s not a competitive things it’s a “this is jarring” thing. Plus you’re not getting good mic quality for people you’re talking to.

The delay for QC45s is around 0.2 seconds and the mix quality for gaming is bad, for quick calls they’re alright but not for a long conversation

Not really better imaging imo, they don’t sound as 3d, they do sound bigger but mostly just taller not that much wider.

They’re better headphones all around for music, but I was super impressed with the 560s for gaming, don’t have them anymore to compare cause I couldn’t stand the clamp but the one game I played with them was ghost of tsushima and I thought they sounded crazy 3d, might been the actual game post processing tho, still for that reason get something that works from the controller imo.

Have you noticed any differences sound-wise when listening to your HD600 plugged in BTR7 vs when you plug them directly into your phone? I'm looking for my first amp/dac to power my hd600, and opinions are divided about how much power you need to get the best out of them. Initially I thought about getting a BTR5/7, but some say you need a more powerful amp to get the best ouf of them. (Currently looking at fiio k7)

Every time I see a post about the HD700, I start talking myself into looking for one, and every time I (begrudgingly) decide against it. Hopefully I go through with it before they get expensive and hard to find.

As someone who tried and ended up loving the HD8XX, this is a super intriguing headphone to me.

I'm new to the hobby, currently have the SHP9500 and planning to get one of the HD600 or 650 (whichever is on sale). May I ask what those wires are? It doesn't look like the one from their websites. I'm also looking into wires, dac, amp to get the best output but I can't find a simple explanation to get me started.

For the ps5 I’d just go with something that can be driven from the controller, I’m using shp9500s atm, the only way I’ve made external dacs work is through the tv optical out and the mix gets iffy for headphones cause it thinks it’s speakers…

And honestly I kinda liked the 560s more for gaming than the XS.
