Hi yall, I figured i'll write this up as best I can and will be answering any question I can throughout the work day.

Firstly im coming from HD600s for over 6 years or so. After graduation and getting an office job I figured I try some IEMs for the first real time and started with the Dusk.

I really enjoy them still and was a big purchase for myself. I loved having such a quality product for my everyday office audio. I enjoyed the details but the size of the Dusks was just too much for myself and started giving me issues with pain, this is after a few months and couldn't go all day long with the size.

This past week I have picked up the Timeless AE and have loved every day with them. I do enjoy the bass these have but I do not feel like I am losing that much with resolution. I will still be keeping the Dusks and this pair of the two I believe will be such complementary of each other.

I'll try to answer any questions when I get the chance!

Regarding a shorter cable:

The connector on the HD560S is a locking 2.5mm connector, so not any cable is going to work. The easiest way to get one is probably by buying the HD5X8/HD5X9 cable from Sennheiser (1.2m long and 3.5mm terminated). While it is designed for other 500 series headphones, it works perfectly well for the 560S too (no idea why Sennheiser doesn’t mention that anywhere). Alternatively look for a third party cable.

Well I don’t know much abt this specific graph but an impulse response will contain a lot of frequency components cuz the shorter a pulse gets (hence the impulse) the wider the bandwidth of the signal (you can think of it like a bunch of sine waves at various frequencies adding up to create the pulse, this is just a Fourier series). But yeah that’s the cool science part, I don’t get the utility of the impulse response for headphones either

*atleast with headphones.

The Elite is my typ of headphone. Musical af and not fatiguing. I'm five years into the hobby, owned Focal Clear, Hifiman Sundara, Beyerdynamic Amiron Home and heard some more, which all were great but I was never totally convinced. Got the Elite at a discount like new and I don't regret it. Comfort, soundstage, detail and imaging are a hugh step up from the Clears and the Sundaras for me. Yeah there are probably more detailed (or whatever) headphones but this is more than enough for me. Did I mentioned the comfort?! Combined with the musical presentation you can really sink into your favorite music.

Most heard album since I brought them: Yosi Horikawa - Vapor

Feel free to ask any questions.

Is the decay linked to the absolute SPL at a frequency, or to the relative SPL of that frequency relative to the rest? If you EQ down a 6K peak by 3 dB to get rid of that decay trail, but then raise the entire signal level by 3 dB so that 6K is back at the original SPL, does the trail return? Does the rest of the signal now exhibit the same trail?

Yep, totally agree. My Hd-600 is almost 15 years old now and haven't even looked at other headphones since then. I just buy new cables and foams from time to time and maybe try new EQ curve for a bit.

Same with speakers - bought a pair of used LSR 305 few years ago and recently added a LRS 310s sub as an endgame cherry. I'm still in awe how good this set sounds.

I have X2HRs so when I purchased K702 for just 99£ I thought they weren't going to be a much bigger improvement surely , I was definitely wrong because they have good imaging too so it adds even more to the sense of soundstage

had my HD600 for about 20 years, still use them every day with the laptop, Fiio ka3 and a balanced cable, really thought they were my end game until I bought the cheapest stax set the srm 252s and the L300s with the socal mod for a bit more bass.

Once you hear electrostatics you will either go not for me or wonder how you can save for a better energizer or further up the line, though these will do very nicely for now...
