(Edit: Based on follow-up post below, updated calculations based on actual sensitivity and corrected for dB/V)

So I went ahead and looked up HD600 spec: https://www.sennheiser-hearing.com/en-US/p/hd-600/

  • 97 dB/V sensitivity (not the 104 dB/V as stated by previous poster)
  • 300 ohm impedance
  • 1mW or 0.55mV to reach 85 dB SPL
  • 3mW or 1V to reach 96 dB SPL

So your numbers do not the spec of the headphones.

In any case, the comment below doesn't change. Assuming your setup can output 85 dB peak, then if you listen to average SPL of 55 dB SPL or less, and assume the dynamic range in your music is 30 dB. Then you are good. Your peaks will only reach 85 dB SPL.

On the other hand, if you are at 65 dB SPL average, with 30dB dynamic range in your source, then your peaks should be at 95 dB SPL. And if your device can drive to 85 dB, then some of the peaks will be clipped. It can be hard to tell when music is slightly clipped. Like 90-95% of the sound is there. It will sound slightly compressed (less dynamic) because the max levels are cut off.

95% of the headphones have no issue with power with most amps. So people will say power is BS and there is no such thing as lack of power. But there are outliers. Some people listen to loud music. Some music recordings have high dynamics. And some headphones do require Watts of power (e.g. Susvara, HE6se).

So i just bought a pair of these after a "what's your daily IEM" post on here. I thought IEMs weren't for me after getting the KZ ZS10 and hating them. These are a lot better but I find them to be top heavy. I'll keep playing with the tips to try and get some more bass.

A reckless delivery service is such a given that now the burden is on the seller to package items in a way that compensates for that. I recently bought a tv forniture and found two pieces broken, I was extremely disappointed until I realized those weren't part of the forniture but scrape wood sheets that the seller had placed on the outer borders in anticipation for careless handling. I'm giving them an extra star for that.

I have my PC connected to Bluetooth speakers, 2,4ghz receiver for my gaming headset, and to my bed monitor (TV) via HDMI.

the Prozo bi-directional selector looks perfect to me! but I am not sure if it works the way I want? do I have to connect my devices straight to it, or does connecting to pc and software programming it solve my case?

u/dezas35 solution could work if I got a macro keyboard and programmed the keys to do the hotkeys I programmed, but a knob is a much simpler choice for me if it works the way I want.

Hello there,

actually if I can't find a single device that does the job I am just gonna get a small macro keys deck and use this app to program the hotkeys, it's not what I am looking for but a perfect alternative if I can't find what I want!

I found this and this that might work good with the software.

Thanks mate.

per hifigo (this generally apply to most eartips): > Narrow bore Ear tips tend to increase the lower end presence, producing a powerful bass response. They bring a slight cut down on treble extensions too. When you use Wide Bore Ear Tips, they bring out the treble energy of the IEMs, the soundstage is also wider and spacious. The wide bore Ear Tips also add a bit of brightness to the IEMs.

my TV is connected via HDMI, Speakers via Bluetooth and gaming headset via 2.4ghz receiver.

I know I can click on the icon and select the audio source, but I want an over desk switch for when I am in full screen apps and easier access.

Red are the only ones which fit my ears well, the rest sound like crap. Except for the blue ones, which are marginally worse than the red for me.

This post has been removed. Please note the following rule:

>Rule 2: Ask purchase help questions in the Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at https://reddit.com/r/headphones/about/sticky > >Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping and Setup Help Desk found at /r/headphones/about/sticky instead of a new post.

You may also use r/headphoneadvice but please search their resources and familiarize yourself with their rules first before posting.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

  • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

  • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

  • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").

Why does this rule even exist?

What if the link doesn't work?

  • The post can usually be found on the top r/headphones, and titled Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk.
