I had to put new pads on them. My big ol ears were being mangled. Deeper pads made these my favorite โ€œcheapโ€ pair of headphones

So my son (4) has been absentmindedly chewing on the cable for my HD560s and this is a new discovery, I only noticed when my Schiit Fulla wouldn't get recognized by my PC for some reason so there's a lot going on. So I guess now I'm just wondering if I should stick with a direct replacement or maybe a 3rd party cable? Thanks for any help.

I've looked into that recently actually. Poweramp actually allows for higher sample rates in settings as well (and differentiable by USB DAC as well). I've compared it to the trial version of USB Audio Player Pro but don't hear any difference in delivery once I adjusted Poweramp's settings for higher sample rate and format even with my Razer dongle. If the audio source doesn't go that high, like USB Audio Player Pro, it matches the audio source. Poweramp is just my choice in this scenario since I got it for cheap years ago and am no longer in the Android ecosystem as my daily driver :P

I notice a difference between my amps, but I often times come to the conclusion that one is not "better" than the other. the differences are so subtle if I didn't listen to either for a few days, I likely wouldn't be able to tell which is which in a blind test. my thoughts are to buy something well made with the power and features you want and don't worry about headphone/amp pairings.

AutoEq is both a tool to generate EQ parameters to go from a source frequency response to a target frequency response, and a collection of EQ parameters (presets) generated with this tool. The problem is that the target frequency response used to generate the presets is (according to most people) crap. So the presets don't sound good. But AutoEq (the tool) can still be used to generate EQ params for the target of your choice, and does it very well.

I picked up a pair of LCD-GX during the B-Stock sale last year! I use them at my desktop with a Topping DX5, and they are certainly the best all-rounder headphones I own. The imaging and general directionality is a godsend in games, and the tuning is perfect for music listening. Plus, they're light enough to be comfortable for hours of use! My old LCD2s are not comfy, at all.

If you haven't already, you should buy one of Apple's Lightning to 3.5mm dongles. That would be the best way to listen from your phone. Plus, these are super efficient headphones, so you will have no problems driving them off it.

I'm hearing a whole lotta stuff. From spontaneous chipping, to humidity, to the paint reacting to the oil of their skin. I actually almost bought a secondhand set of the Aria from a real nice dude, but then he informed me that the paint chipped when he was trying to wipe it clean with wet wipes.

Thank you for the info. I really dig the faceplate and overall clean design. Their product also seems to be sanely priced. I just found out they used to make some phono amps too, may be worth a look when I get around to upgrading my TT setup.

I think that feature's new no? I remember looking into it when I had the 2 XL, but when I gave up on pursuing 4 and on, I haven't caught up on Graphene. Good to know, maybe down the line if I head back to the Pixel line it'll be an option.
