>With some tracks and genres these need more power to get to the volume I'm accustomed to, some significantly less. I can see how these are purported to be a little amp picky.

This is due to how power delivery works. These are less sensitive than your average headphone but that tends to matter more at higher volume levels. About every 6 dB, you have to use double the voltage from your amp. This means that the difference between two headphones at lower levels may not seem so much (a couple of mV) but at higher levels can mean a whole volt of difference. So if you have a song that has an overall quiet level of loudness, you will have to turn up the amp more for the Venus than you would another headphone since it will require more voltage to get the same increase in volume, especially if you have a linear volume pot.

Also, glad you like your Venus. I love mine. :)

According to a few posts the official specs on Sennheiser's website are wrong (lol) and the actual values would be 97dB/mW and around 102-104dB/V. I don't own the HD600 and have no skin in the game, but looking at the numbers it seems they would be more than loud enough for me with an Apple dongle. I mean, my current setup is loud enough despite Android limiting the volume of the Apple dongle to -20dB (0.1V) so I really don't need 110dB peak... But if you do, that's fine too! ๐Ÿ‘

Nicely described, the thing Iโ€™m most concerned is QC and reliability since a few popular picks in this price bracket lack in that area, I guess Iโ€™ll wait for long term reviews, my other pick would be the meze 109 pro but the Venus seem to perform a bit better for what Iโ€™ve seen. Beautiful pic btw !

Uhm no? Have you not read what I typed?

>I'm not saying that there is absolutely
no difference, I can't say for sure. I'm saying that your "trust me
bro" approach isn't convincing enough to claim that as "objective",
because that's what "objective" means

Anyways, what I'm saying is, you claimed that there's objective differences, but you only listened through you own ears, and you didn't describe how different they are apart from some vague terms like "more detail and clarity" in ONE comment. Also, in the other comment you made, you said that "Every single aspect of how an audio device sounds can be measured", well, instead of throwing around buzzwords and arguing your ass off with random internet strangers like me, how about you provide said measurements and how those measurements corresponds to your experience? Educate us.

I have an original made in Austria K701 from well before the Samsung acquisition, it does have some redeeming features with great soundstage and good "punch" but it is also somewhat harsh and piercing. The HD600/HD650 which it competed against at release are far better tuned, and there's a reason they still get more attention today despite being even older headphones.

I also have "sound by AKG" Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, Buds 2 and Buds 2 Pro, all of which are absolutely excellent and probably about the best tuned BT TWS in existence (AKG's own N400NC TWS being another contender).

I have a AKG NC700M2 over-ear BT headphone, from after the Samsung acquisition, which is also tuned extremely well, fantastically for a BT over-ear. Samsung probably helped out with the electronic side of this, as that all "just works" as well.

Samsung brought Harman and AKG together and if anything actually significantly improved AKG's ability to tune headphones properly.

Lol ya got nothing. You are effectively arguing that the Apple dongle is the last word in headphone amp fidelity, and that people canโ€™t hear differences in sound. Look at you.

I (clearly?) am not trusting you, but others, especially newcomers, might, because of how you pass off your "info" as facts.

Also, just because you're xxx professional of some sort, does not make your ears the "objective" tool. Please don't think that you're that much superior than us just because you work with audio.
