AirPods Pro Vs Moondrop Blessing 2

I currently have some AirPods Pro, and I really want to hear some nicer sounding hifi earbuds. Are the Moondrop blessing 2s a big upgrade in sound quality? My budget is around $200 and I know you can get the B2s for around that much second hand. Is that my best option for a hifi listening experience? Thanks.

It depends. I would say it's only worth it if you remove the stock foam, then you can truly tweak these headphones to different sound profiles, from very flat to super bassy, probably even more than EQ could (but I'm not 100% sure about that, maybe EQ won't distort if you tweak it in the same way how some foams affect these headphones).

I personally like it without foam, but because I'm worried of getting dust into my 6XX I added stretched pieces of nylon between the housing and the copper rings, basically a dust protector that doesn't influence sound.

With some inserts you get a close to stock 6XX, with others you get a very different experience. Dense foams give you super flat and analytical sound, really not what I prefer. Anything with holes in it or lower density is pretty nice.

So if it's worth it is up to you. It's fun to mess around with it, but a stock 6XX is just blissful so it's not like you're missing out. If you like bass, it's worth it. Watch the YouTube video from custom cans to get the measurements I'd say and then decide.

SHP9500 channel imbalance

The right driver slowly gets quieter until the channel imbalance gets super obvious and then it completely shuts off. Maybe it has to do with the 3.5mm connector as when you move it a bit or you plug it in it affects the imbalance. I tried this with multiple cables, they're not the issue.

Sometimes when I plug in the headphones the right driver doesnt work at all. I've found a few (temporary) fixes: plug the cable in and out until it works, jiggle the cable a bit or shake the headphones. Have you any idea what the issue may be?

Hi all,
I'm a beginner audio guy and have a Modi+/Magni Schiit stack with Sennheiser HD 660S.
I am looking for more information on if you can use an in ear monitor with my current Modi+ and Magni setup. Im not looking for anything expensive just functional for using as an alternative to the over ear's during video calls.
I was looking at the BASN in-Ear Monitors, Bmaster Triple Driver and cant figure out if they will work with the setup.
Be gentle, I don't know all the lingo and terminology and could potentially be committing audio sacrilege

No interest in the blind AB testing. That’s not how we listen to music. And I’m gonna be honest, it’s blatantly obvious on some tracks. There’s no myth to what I and many other people hear just because the science hasn’t been able to pinpoint what’s going on. I don’t actually care why. What I do know is that one sounds much fuller and less compressed than the other. Also, as a matter of principle, I think when you have high performance gear it’s worth having the best quality source. You wouldn’t put street tires on a Ferrari even if they would probably work OK.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

  • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

  • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

  • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").

Why does this rule even exist?

What if the link doesn't work?

I think the reviewer(s) did lean on the 600 and 650 quite a bit to make comparisons, this was a big question on peoples mind and probably what most are familiar with.

I appreciate the improvements made on the 660S2, at the end of the day it just comes down to being willing to pay for these improvements at launch and this becomes hard when the current lineup is basically half the price for what might already be one persons perfection.

Yeah, that ambivalent feeling of hitting the endgame(?) like, I'm happy but kinda hope that there will still be surprises ahead..

I had the CRN, but then my gf's brother borrowed and lost them and got me the ZSN pro X instead (he isn't into iems, and I didn't want the CRN anyway after all that transpired, haha). The CRN were well-tuned, sounded a bit wider then the others, but didn't resolve that well (duh). The ZSN are OK for a gym beater. I mostly used the NiceHCK nx7 pro, these have competent, but scooped mids and the harshest treble imaginable due to its piezo driver, which I mistook for resolving ability at the time. Still, these were better then all the KZs I tried

BTW, how do ppl in here put their gear into their profile? I only registered my account today and am still figuring things out
