Soundstage is not something IEMs shine in. You may get a little better separation in higher-end models but the upgrade in that regard is marginal.

I would look into multi-driver IEMs that can achieve a better treble extension and thus a better sense of clarity, space and separation. Under $100 you have the Truthear Hexa and for around $350 you have the Moondrop Blessing 2 (I recommend the Dusk version), thought if you plan to spend that amount I would encourage you to save a little more and go with the Moondrop Variations (a reference in sound and arguably the best "objective" tuning).

The Moondrop Aria is harman-neutral to warm/dark in tuning, that's why you may sense it to sound congested and not detailed enough.

I agree with everything you said. The cable does look stiff. I am not super into moding so I will pass on that at least for now :) The velour pads are actually quite bad broo. Some people liked it probably because they don't sweat but dam that clamping pressure!!!

One question. After removing the velour pads there is a sponge like thing underneath it. Do I have to use that as well while using the brainwavz pads ?? I ordered them as well so am a bit confused :)

Thanks, question remains if its possible to put them back after ripping the cans out. Given that kph30i headband will propably desintegrate sooner or later maybe i will just buy additional kph40 just for the band

It’s an amplifier. The “light bulbs” are vacuum tubes - a mid-century technology that has mostly fallen out of favor except for some audio applications.

The tubea are the predecessor of the transistor which is nowadays used to amplify signals. They glow not for the purpose of glowing. Its just a byproduct

This version of Hotel California is what I usually tell people, it's mixed masterfully.

But what do I personally use? The Rain Formerly Known As Purple from the Risk of Rain 2 soundtrack has great bass and high pitched electric guitars, allowing me to check both ends of the frequency response spectrum whether there's something wrong.

This one is probably very controversial, but I use Perfect by Ed Sheeran to check male vocals. If he sounds too harsh here, then I know the headphones are too harsh for me to daily drive.

I usually just pick out a track from Porter Robinson's Nurture to check out female vocals. It's not actually a woman singing, but it's a male voice pitched high and I really like the album 😤. Same as before, if it sounds uncomfortable on this, I would not daily drive them. I pick whatever track I'm feeling at that moment, but I guess if you had to pick one, Unfold would be my choice.

So those are the 4 tracks I use to test things, mostly because I'm super comfortable with them and they cover all of what I listen to

Taking a well needed vacation this week. Of course I had to have my music on my balcony to enjoy the water and sunrise with. This is much more convenient than when I brought my Schiit and HD6XX to my last vacation, lol.

The Bathys are definitely my Bluetooth of choice. So versatile, and blow my old AirPods Max out of the water (no pun intended)

I did bump up around 1k about 2db for that mid dip, but its just a nice relaxing experience to listen to these.
