Definitely the Sony MDR-V6. Real shame they were discontinued. I think I bought mine in 2011 or 2012. My pair had a channel die. Currently listening to drop 6XX’s through a schiit hel2e + a wired mod mic. By far the best gaming headset I’ve had.

On the go I use AirPod pro 2’s but I did just order some KZ pr1 pros to use with my laptop. Will be my first planer magnetic audio anything.

This makes me sad. I have a Little Dot MKIII that I've loved for over a decade and had a similar experience white moving. Took the tubes out, packaged them separately, but something fell and crushed them during the move. Started tube rolling after that though... And while there may not be huge differences between a lot of the tubes I bought, at least I have backups now

That's a good question, so I'll try my best to answer. Music has always been a very personal thing for me, to the point where the variety of stuff I listen to defines part of my personality. I'm quite an introverted and private person, so playing music that others can hear simply makes me uncomfortable (even if they eventually forget about it in the future). I reserve the stuff I enjoy to those who are closest to me since I'm fine with them seeing a piece of who I am. For me, it's also a nice way of showing my respect and consideration to others.

Oh sure, as a musician myself I understand that very well! There are many horrible sounding albums out there... Guess that was my compulsive perfectionism kicking in :) I'm better now, haha

Not sure that I agree on the total lack of bass part, it's definitely there... But I really don't rate the HD25 as a headphone for enjoying music. As a robust, lightweight tool for DJs? Sure. For actually sitting and listening to music, no, on so many levels, just no.

The people who daily drive these things are insane. There, I said it.

After about half an hour of testing, I think I prefer the 660s over the 660s2.
I got my 660s for $300. These I obviously paid full price.
They are a fun headphone and I like the changes, but overall I prefer the 660s and they'll still be my daily go-to. The 660s's sound like you're on the front of the stage, and the 660s2's sound like you're in the middle of the stage. It sounds less wide, and overall sounds v-shaped right out of the box.

Tinnitus is caused by loud sounds (aka increasing the volume to unsafe levels), not from the headphone itself. It doesn't matter what headphone you have, if you go over ~85 db, you are going to get permanent hearing damage. Search "safe sound levels" on Google.

Also, tinnitus is not a problem in and of itself, it's a symptom of a problem and it's not always caused by hearing damage. It can be a symptom of nerve damage, cervical issues, prostate cancer, etc. I suggest going to a few different doctors (audiologist and neurologist at least) to have it checked.

As far as a headphone recommendation, if you like absurd levels of bass, then try the Meze 99 Classics.
