Definitely the Sony MDR-V6. Real shame they were discontinued. I think I bought mine in 2011 or 2012. My pair had a channel die. Currently listening to drop 6XX’s through a schiit hel2e + a wired mod mic. By far the best gaming headset I’ve had.
On the go I use AirPod pro 2’s but I did just order some KZ pr1 pros to use with my laptop. Will be my first planer magnetic audio anything.

I just don't understand why a salesperson would do that. Sometimes the art of selling is knowing when not to speak!

This makes me sad. I have a Little Dot MKIII that I've loved for over a decade and had a similar experience white moving. Took the tubes out, packaged them separately, but something fell and crushed them during the move. Started tube rolling after that though... And while there may not be huge differences between a lot of the tubes I bought, at least I have backups now

I'd ask Beyer if the drivers are the same or not. In any case, I'd expect a little bit of channel imbalance since the drivers aren't matched. Unit variation is very much a factor.

Focals have been known to have problems with driver excursion when bass is played at high volumes. The diaphragm basically hits its end-stop. Tell him to stop blowing out his ears with ridiculous volume and stop worrying. The headphones are most likely completely fine.

Unless you're running EQ then there shouldn't be a possibility of any clipping problems.
Anyway, you would lose a little bit of dynamic range. Probably not enough to make a practical difference.

That's a good question, so I'll try my best to answer. Music has always been a very personal thing for me, to the point where the variety of stuff I listen to defines part of my personality. I'm quite an introverted and private person, so playing music that others can hear simply makes me uncomfortable (even if they eventually forget about it in the future). I reserve the stuff I enjoy to those who are closest to me since I'm fine with them seeing a piece of who I am. For me, it's also a nice way of showing my respect and consideration to others.

I have my guilty pleasure music that I would rather not let other ppl hear. Is it dumb? Maybe, but I cant fully enjoy the music if I also feel awkward about it.

Opposite problem, I have a young kid in the house and when I’m working and he’s upset about something I question the wisdom of closed backs. I have some IEMs to cover both bases.

Don't return them if you like them. Just buy some other closed backs and use the 660s when you're alone.

I have thousands of dollars worth of speakers. It's a colorful analogy. Calm down.

Oh sure, as a musician myself I understand that very well! There are many horrible sounding albums out there... Guess that was my compulsive perfectionism kicking in :) I'm better now, haha

Im genuinely curious about why would you care if someone knows what you are listening to

Not sure that I agree on the total lack of bass part, it's definitely there... But I really don't rate the HD25 as a headphone for enjoying music. As a robust, lightweight tool for DJs? Sure. For actually sitting and listening to music, no, on so many levels, just no.
The people who daily drive these things are insane. There, I said it.

Yes and there is no shame in that. I too would rather listen to a Sony MH750 than an LCD 4, no matter what the community says :)
Do not be a sheep, follow your own taste.

After about half an hour of testing, I think I prefer the 660s over the 660s2.
I got my 660s for $300. These I obviously paid full price.
They are a fun headphone and I like the changes, but overall I prefer the 660s and they'll still be my daily go-to. The 660s's sound like you're on the front of the stage, and the 660s2's sound like you're in the middle of the stage. It sounds less wide, and overall sounds v-shaped right out of the box.

Sovtek tubes were one thing Soviet Russia did well.

Tinnitus is caused by loud sounds (aka increasing the volume to unsafe levels), not from the headphone itself. It doesn't matter what headphone you have, if you go over ~85 db, you are going to get permanent hearing damage. Search "safe sound levels" on Google.
Also, tinnitus is not a problem in and of itself, it's a symptom of a problem and it's not always caused by hearing damage. It can be a symptom of nerve damage, cervical issues, prostate cancer, etc. I suggest going to a few different doctors (audiologist and neurologist at least) to have it checked.
As far as a headphone recommendation, if you like absurd levels of bass, then try the Meze 99 Classics.
