I've demoed both the Arya Stealth and the HEKv2, and while I only had a few minutes with each, I definitely agree that the HE-1000 is a step above the Arya. There was something harsh in the Arya's upper midrange and treble that made some voices sound "scratchy". The HE1000 did not have that issue and was a more refined and smoother presentation all around. I wasn't able to listen long enough to evaluate stuff like soundstage or detail presentation, but I noticed the difference how smoothly the HE1000 rendered vocals. Either one is endgame-worthy, but the HEK is still better by some margin.

Back when the Arya was $1600 and the HEKv2 was $3000, the Arya was definitely the price-optimized choice, but with the Arya now at $1300 and the HEKv2 at $2000, the latter is a more viable option.

Yes, search up the various other bigger drawer boxes, watch boxes, earrings boxes, accessories boxes, et cetera that some other people use for their IEMs. There's pictures here on /r/headphones, and also Head-Fi, etc.

There's also some good earbud cases from AliExpress for like $5-10, lol. But there's always the $5-10 cases from Amazon too. Those will work just fine for individual IEMs/TWS earbuds/etc.

For humidity, maybe get those tiny Ziploc/plastic bags and put them in there, maybe don't worry about static/etc. Don't worry too much about humidity, just put your electronics away from the window during winter if you don't have HVAC or constant heating.

How to maybe soundproof your room for better noise reduction/isolation: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/10epr17/struggling_to_enjoy_my_headphones_in_noisy/j4t4qaw/

If you get (legit, the expensive heavy ones, not the light/cheap/etc. ones) blackout curtains and tape them, it should do some changes. Though actually even using those plastic film thermal insulation kits did nicely as the vacuum seal on the window reduced the sound a lot.

Those thermal insulation kits will help a lot with not needing to run the air conditioner (or heater) all the time, you can keep it on a timer if your AC unit has that option. Just make sure to achieve that good/perfect vacuum seal with the windows when it comes to taping it. There's also those door draft stopper or like foam you put at the bottom of the door, those can actually help quite a bit too with retaining the heat/cold, believe it or not.

I just bought a used Mr. Speaker/Dan Clark Aeon Open and a Schiit Fulla 2 and at slightly higher volumes, the headphones completely stop playing, and I hear an electric shock sound.

I have to unplug and replug the amp for the music to start playing or just lower the amp completely and slowly turn up the volume again for it to work.

I wonder if this is because of the amp or the headphones. These headphones are in a pretty used condition but still look great.

Blessing 2s are a delightful iem with a transparent shell, and you could get a very similar cable with either the aria snow editions or the kato, the arias probably being the better iem of the two and the katos probably having the better cable. You could also probably find a good custom one somewhere but I wouldn’t know anything about that

Edit - the other guy is right those are called the kinera sif and they’re only like $40, I would recommend if you like that cable just get those and put the cable in some blessing 2s, then it will look how you want and sound like heaven

This is a really hard question. I think the Focal Clear actually sound the best to me but the lack of soundstage really hurts it imo. I think the Focal Clear would be a great daily driver, but I really like having a wide soundstage so unfortunately I think that eliminates the Clear for me but if you don't mind a lack of soundstage I would probably go for the Clear OG.

So this leaves the HD8XX vs Arya. I have sticker modded my HD8XX which is a rather simple process but I get not everyone would want to do that, so if that's something you're not willing to do, then I would say the HD8XX is easily the worst out of all 4 headphones. With the sticker mod applied, I THINK I lean towards the HD8XX. I think the Arya sound a bit better and actually have pretty great bass but they have this really prominent sibilant spike that can get pretty fatiguing. They also have a pretty decent soundstage. They're like a really good inbetween of the Clear and the HD8XX but the HD8XX is more comfortable and since I play a lot of videogames I like the additional soundstage. The HD8XX is just REALLY lean sounding, the mids don't sound very natural and there is next to no bass, whereas the mids on the Arya are also a little lacking but they make up for that with good bass performance. For reference I have the Arya V2 not Stealth

I'm currently using my old watch box for storing 3 IEMs, it's rather small and they are made of cardboard. Could doing this damage them? My average room temperature is around 15 degrees and it's a relatively humid place (I already put silica gel tho)
