Its a game of patience. Also it doesn't hurt to spark a conversation with a vendor, usually if you get chatty they ask people to go try something else. Also 3 hours isn't much time. For me 6 hours go by pretty fast. At the end you just end up listening to the DCS Lina all day since they are usually everywhere.

First dive into getting my own Dac & headphone setup. I’m mainly using this for single player gaming and listening to music. No specific music genre, a bit of everything. As far as gaming goes, it was crazy playing doom eternal on this as well as something like Hogwarts legacy. The ambiance on Returnal, was upped quite a bit for me at least. I’m a definitely give my x2s a go on this Dac after a couple more sessions. I did get 69 dollar low noise power supply for this that Ifi sells, I used to get a static noise in the background when playing at higher volumes that is long gone.

No they are not :)

You can say a headphone is muddy. When I asked what that meant you simply say: excessive energy in the mid bass and sent me an EQ ti test it with my own headphones.

If I ask you, what "direct steering" means, you'd tell me to drive a G class and then hop into a 911.

I can explain what warm colours are to me, and show you.

These terms can easily be explained and shown to one another.

Detail, dynamics and speed cannot. They are meaningless, it seems :)

I was here the other day. I thought it was just a store you can go in but it's not. You have to make an appointment, they did let me in when I called on the curb and let me buy the poly I was after. Very nice folks. I'll definitely order from them from now on if they have something I'm after. I'm not sure if they let you audition equipment or not.

I've heard both during my time at CanJam 2022 Socal. From what I recall, WA33 is more technical and less rolled-off in the treble than the Envy. I believe, I used the low-impedance setting in the WA33 and medium impedance with the Envy with the Suvara pairing. The Envy has a more "expressive" mids than the WA33, and both have that concert-hall imaging that is the trademark of tube amp.

When it comes to tube amps, the best breed would be the "Directly Heated Triode" Single Ended Tube amp (WA23, WA5 LE, Feliks Envy, Eddie Current amps) or Fully Balanced Push-Pull directly heated triode amp (WA33). They differ in output power as well as output transformers and as such will react differently with the same headphones. Only way to tell is to actually demo them with your headphone of choosing.

> Also is every input hole like adding gain on a standard amp?

Nope. If you use two of the headphone amp outs at the same time, you increase the load of the amp (on the output transformer specifically) and depending on the sensitivity of the headphones used, one will sound louder or quieter than the other

I don’t know about all this talk from self proclaimed audiophiles and reviewers, but I only buy ā€œbass headā€ iems and judge them by the same reference tracks, then reread the reviews. I hear (or don’t) the same things in the tracks, but with different prominence or coloration. Does that mean I always like the Honeydews better than the OH10’s or 1More Quads? No-they are just different. And It takes my ears awhile to tell my brain why I enjoy each of them.

Rocking set of cans my friend! Glad you enjoy them. They present bass register so damn well. For rock, electronic, and anything that has a hefty bottom end, these are endgame for the price. Weight wise, they do begin to wear in you in time. I typically like laying while listening to music and that easily halves the apparent weight. But they are always a joy to throw on when I want that visceral experience. Enjoy them!
