Wouldn't mind that as I actually like the 560S sound better than any of the 6X0 series I've heard, although the 6X0 series has similar issues with third-party earpads (then again, some people like the ZMF pads for those).

I think he bought Empyreans for under $1826. Which, to be fair is a very good deal.

I wish they could remake the 560s with the 6X0 build. I would definitely buy that just for the build quality.

Here is the very amplifier you see broken up there - before it broke.

Much as I hate how fragile these things are, the HD 560S still amazes me with sound quality for the price. Would love Dekoni/Yaxi/ZMF to make a high quality pad that doesn't affect the sound as badly as the existing options (the Dekoni leather and the HD569 microsuede are comfortable but sound terrible on my 560S).
If you get the misodiko pads, let me know how they work out for you; I haven't tried those, but I feel like I've already spent too much on unsuccessful pad rolling experiments.

Sabre chips have a really bright sound, maybe you should try topping e30/e30 ii

Just make an X cross then a line — beneath. The two middle ones are the X and the tethering are the line —
Edit: Similar to an 3 strand hair braids if you're still lost

It's possible that the headphone output on your pc is not able to properly drive the headphones, coloring the sound. I do understand what you're trying to say, though. I get that same feeling out of my Monolith THX 887, and really only that amp out of the bunch I have tried.

I agree, I don’t think most of these engineers or store owners are doing anything malicious. I think most of them really believe what they’re selling which I don’t know is better or worse lol.
Something you might consider to try to get access to more demos is go to CanJam. They have one in London this summer.
It is great fun and a bargain at what you have access to in one weekend.

Sure! I just use a piece of rubber that you would normally use to protect toddlers from corners of furniture: link
I think it is very soft and doesn’t do any damage over time, and is easily removed if someone with a smaller head wants to have a listen 😊
