I’ve actually had the pair for three or four days and I seem to notice it more and more. They’re excellent for music but for gaming the volume is really inconsistent leaving many annoying quiet patches, and my jaw tends to twist around like crazy when I’m concentrating.

What I’m wondering is would it be crazy to look for some less isolating pads? Might they even exist at all?

People buy $2k cables saying they hear a difference. Listen to whatever music service works for you. Care about artist payout? Find a service with a higher payout. Care about really good discoverability? Spotify's algorithm for finding similar music to what you like is, imo, miles ahead of any other service.

Personally I have a DAP for listening to music on the go or in my car and when I'm at home I use foobar, but the convenience of any music service is also great.

It is possible to modify some cables to fit the Sennheiser ie200/300 etc without damaging the IEM itself. I made the mmcx connector housings more narrow so they can be inserted a little deeper, they fit the ie300 securely. I only did it to see if it worked, I have no problems with the original cable and prefer it.

Aye, wish I could afford one xP. Can't even afford to covet the dcs stuff. Don't think I can justify spending that kind of money on something that produces audio, unless it has 4 wheels and a 10 year/100,000 mile warranty.

Or: Someone who purchases well-built, reasonably-priced HP, interconnects, and USB cables - but spends money on several of them of different layouts and materials, so that he can experiment to see if he can actually hear slight differences (ie: me, LOL, and yes). Plus, he's got fall-back cables if one or two ever breaks. He also refuses to buy HPs that need special connectors as a pet peeve....

By high volume are you referring to the setting on the volume control or how loud your earphones sound to you? I ask because people often think that the volume setting on a phone is the same level of loudness with every set of earphones, it isn't and can vary greatly.

Yeah, I think when you look at the best headphones in this price category, it ends up coming down to preferences as they all have their own strengths and weaknesses, but it’s hard to go wrong with any of them.

For example, some may gravitate towards the HD800/S for soundstage, precision, comfort, build, etc, but it’s more analytical/cold. The Clear has a more lively, fun and warm sound but you’re sacrificing soundstage.

I also found it surprising - there were at least 6-8 full stacks there.

Spent some but minimal time with it. As the owner of a Rossini, I’d feel damn fine getting just the Lina DAC and rolling with that in pretty much any system.

I have it as part of apple one with tv+, music, iCloud storage. Also Apple Music Sing (karaoke mode) is a game changer for my family who loves to sing.
