So, I got these off my drummer recently. I have 425s already

Things I noticed on these 535s: no serial number, the cable says 215 and is marked 2021, the connection point is not flush, the connection doesn't have the star pattern like my 425s, the point that the bud tip goes on is a bit rough, on all the shure stuff you can see alot of gold at the connection point on these I can only see gold at the tip of connection not the inside bit.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I’m still new to iems, are the thieaudio monarch mk2 not in this conversation? Or no longer in this conversation? I thought they were the best performer in this price range, but maybe that’s old or incorrect info

That's very low power. The $9 Apple dongle does 31mW@33Ω, 30% more power than this does.

The Edition XS are much lower sensitivity (91dB/mW spec, and that's optimistic) than the Focal Clear (104dB/mw) or HD6XX (~100dB/mW), while your amp does higher power at 300Ω than 32Ω.

The Edition XS is 18Ω where presumably your integrated amp is putting out even less power.

Often the headphone outputs on these can be OK for high impedance dynamics but no good for low impedance, low sensitivity planars, it seems like this is one of these cases.

Not much of a difference in sound, driving power would improve and maybe some technicalities would come forward in different IEMs. If you purchase it, do it for the features or for the battery (since you bought your model from Ebay).

The biggest difference always comes from IEMs. I would even take the Hiby R3 Pro Sabre 2022 with expensive/better IEMs than a better DAP if the p2p power output is enough

Definitely, pretty much everything you’ve listed is something I’d like to listen to in the future especially tbe b2d, ie600 and the fiio m11s

Recently got the Shanling m3x and so far it’s been a good cheap dap to start with, since I got it off eBay so I’m curious what upgrading to something like the m11s would be like

Planar headphones really suck up a lot of current. Dynamic headphones aren't usually as amplifier picky.

This is not that powerful honestly. So no your amp is not handling the Edition XS all that well. A cheap enough combo would be Atom amp+ with its dac (or a Schiit magni+ with its dac).

To compare, Atom amp+ does 545 mW(9.04VRMS) @ 150Ω or 1 Watt (5.66 VRMS) @ 32Ω

Absolutely. Listening to anything with an orchestra with the 6xx just sounds weird. Everything is jumbled together right next to my ears and it's just not a great experience. Listening to the same orchestral music with my Hifiman is much more comfortable.
