if you already have them, and they worked, i’d go for them again.
If you want a cheaper option that is similar, the new moondrop nekocake is a $40 tws with a similar fit. It would just come with a lot more compromises than that of the airpod pros.

The Vic Firth one popped right into my head seeing this.

I didn't know that Shure was still making new iem's. I've had the 215's for probably close to twenty years. They haven't aged well though.

It is rather frustrating for sure. Finally find a pair that sound super good and they have QC issues... I may try my hand at replacement first before writing them off altogether. I did get them off Amazon, and I read another post stating they stopped selling them off Amazon UK due to so many returns. It's unfortunate you have to essentially play the Hifiman lottery to see if you get a good one or not. I wish there was a Sennheiser headphone that had this same sound signature.
I'll have to look into the Moondrop Venus! I'll give your post history a look as well. It's been quite the adventure so far just trying to find the "right" headphone for me. I was convinced the Edition XS was it until I got buzzing noises. Maybe I'll get lucky with them and if not, try something else. Thanks again for your suggestions and whatnot!

Okay, I'm working on that lol
Today I've noticed that I can literally hear the GPU working when I'm training a Reinforcement Learning Agent. Does that indicate a problem with the DAC?

Could be legit. The shure cable is largely identical between series, so if he replaced the cable at any point then it would use the generic version rather than a 535 labeled one.
The bore could just have some wear, and I know from my own pair of shure iems that the gold connecter plating ends up rubbing off after a while since they freely swivel at that point, rather than being locked in place.
I'd say you just got a well-worn pair, my 2c

I went to check the price on that DAP and they offered me a monthly payment higher than the cost of my grados

Personally I love them. Nice and balanced sound. They’ve been around for so many years for a reason (I own gen2).

Curious as well. They don’t get talked about as much here.

You could also get a full blown dap, but that's not really a lightweight solution.

Why would it not work offline?
Edit: for clarification, Poweramp Equaliser is not a 3rd party player but an Android systemwide equaliser.

To tune between the space inside headphone cup and the space in the earcup. Generally speaking probably affects bass more.
I'd 100% not touch it unless you know what you're doing or used to modding / tuning headphone. 100% will change sound signature depending on material used and how much it's closed.

I see moondrop aria . Do you love em ? I’m thinking of buying.
MyUserNameIsTooLong1 OP t1_jadrrou wrote
I appreciate showing me the alternatives. Looks like for offline play, there is effectivly nothing else (everything is software based). I'll most likely just get a topping nx7 to act a the amp, and run 1.4v from the 5k SE (the minimum voltage the nx7 needs to run properly). Its battery is 8 times the size of the qudelix, so if that doesn't work, then nothing will. Thanks again.

I think I'd go for a 7hz Zero or Truthear Hola in order to get a fairly neutral tuning.

Mood depending for me. In love with all the tracks except Culling Voices. That one is just great. But never a favorite. Most frequent play for me? Descending.

Reply to HifiMan Edition XS on my Integrated Amp sounds flat. Not good synergy?! by Imsjry
some integrated amps just use resistors to step down the voltage/power from the speaker outs; which leads to a impedance mismatch (high damping factor). This can make your headphones sound muffled/boomy (treble cutoff/bass boost), depending on the impedance curve.
