It says in the email that up and coming artists were not seeing enough because the payout is dependent on the users' top artists. So the new program says they will be "backing emerging artists with education, custom promotion and direct-funding, so they can grow, thrive, and build their careers with purpose and confidence." They also stated in the email that 70,000 artists were enrolled in this recent program and collected $500,00 over its course. Wish we could just cash app them but I wonder if contracts stop that from happening. But ultimately it seems like they're trying to do good.

Well, apparently Tidal had some kind of program where among the premium tier subscribers, 10% of your subscription fee would go to your top listened artist every month, and only that artist. Which seems even dumber than the standard streaming payout model.

I am just a Koss sound fan, I know their limitations because I have listened to better quality headphones like AKG 712 or Hifimans but I love the price-quality factor. I just want to have them all : ) I prefer open headphones for the comfort and natural feeling sound. For takeaway headphones the visual factor is also important for me so say nono to KTXPRO 1 (which honestly are one of the better sounding koss 60ohms imo) but KPH40 style seems okay. I already have wireless IEMs (Edifier TWS1 pro). Im gonna check Grado's in the future for sure

Because tidal offline mode doesn't allow any third party applications to take control at all. It streams in direct mode which bypasses all mixing on on your device. The reason the 5k works is because its peq is an actual hardware chip. It an actual digital dsp attenuator, which is drastically superior. Also it looks to be a GEQ not PEQ . Are the bands completely customisable, with their own select filter set and q value? No where in there marketing does it look like its using a PEQ, rather a fixed 5 band GEQ. Is that correct?

So, the pro rata payment model that for example Spotify uses, I presume? Monthly subscription revenue goes into one big pool and is then divided among all artists on the platform, proportionally based on the number of streams that month, so regardless of one's listening habits, the biggest chunk the subscription fee will always line the pockets of the pockets of the most listened artists. Yeah, sucks all kinds of balls.
