Easily the most resolving IEM I have heard. It’s also the first one I’ve tried where at my first listen I thought wow I see why this is so expensive. For tonality and just normal enjoyment I kind of prefer the u6t but if I want to just be wowed by music I’ll use the mest. It’s also no where near as comfortable as the u6t and has a FAT nozzle. Along with that I find it’s treble peak to be a bit fatiguing after a while but damn does this thing have soundstage and depth and really natural sounding vocals… almost like a performance is happening in front of you. I believe the bass hits much harder than it shows on a graph.

Met up with a friend to try each others gear. Thought this was a pretty sick photo so I decided to post it. If anyone wants impressions feel free to ask. I can provide some on the ie600 and the sa6 but those aren’t mine, however I could get my friend to hop into this post too. (Hoping this comment is long enough now to let me post this)

Over government is nuts. They think it’ll benefit Indian manufacturers. Fuckers don’t understand that Indians don’t manufacture even 2% of the shit it’s imported anyways. So stuff is either more expensive or not available at all.

They did this during some tensions with china but didn’t undo it after things returned back to normal.

I don't really care about high-res. But after using many platforms like Apple music, spotify, tidal,... I only stay with Qobuz now. Somehow, Qobuz feels like right to my ears more than the others.

I'm using IE800S with Fiio Q5 stacked with Samsung Note 20 Ultra (dolby atmos turned on).

Simgot is essentially restricted to the Chinese market back then, but with this new EA500 they might be known a bit more. Apparently some Chinese IEM enthusiasts discovered the EA500 back in November 11.11 sale or something like that, but it's only now (past month) that people are getting the EA500 in the western/Anglo side of the world.

They actually have the more expensive EA2000 that's using this passive bass radiator thing but the tuning is not as well-received as this EA500.

Some of us browsers of Head-Fi/etc. know of Simgot because of the SIMGOT EM2R as it has that classy/medieval/etc. Chinese woman art style, kinda like the TANGZU Zetian Wu or TANGZU Wan'er S.G and so on. Though the reviewers/influencers on Head-Fi have been reviewing Simgot for some time now, check there as it's not really known here on reddit/elsewhere.

Here's a thread for other/same types of box art for IEMs: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/10uiyec/iem_of_the_year_this_headphone_of_the_year_that/j7c3xe9/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/103kuek/truthear_1dd_and_dac/j2zrs44/

Check squig.link to compare IEMs, this is the tuning/graph of the EA500 with the HEXA, Aria, Olina SE, with HBB target, switch to crinacle's/Harman/etc. target if you want less bass and so on: https://hbb.squig.link/?share=Bad_Guy_2022_Target,Simgot_Ea_500,Truthear_Hexa,Moondrop_Aria,Olina_Se_S2

Timmy from Gizaudio finally uploaded a video about the Simgot EA500 about an hour or so ago, lol: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-o40WESARA

This is Akros' review of the EA500, he compares it to other IEMs like the FiiO/JadeAudio JD7, Tripowin x HBB Olina Special Edition, and Moondrop Kato: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7ryrgDC6_U

Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews or Hawaii Bad Boy's review of the EA500, he actually prefers the EA500 over his own Olina collaboration: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu2UVohvFnM

But right now, there's the $75/85 Shuoer S12 (Pro) on AliExpress, more info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/headphones/comments/11xgwdt/those_s12_are_really_good_arent_they/jd454h7/?context=10000 and https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/comments/11wjm5z/blessing_2_dusk_still_best_in_class/jd0l2el/

At the moment the Simgot EA500, Truthear HEXA, Tripowin x HBB Olina (Special Edition, don't know why the original Olina is not in this sale), are like $60 right now on AliExpress due to the anniversary sale.

And then crinacle's upcoming Project Red is probably gonna be $50-100 as people said it's like a red Truthear Zero with just a bit more bass. Apparently Project Red will still outperform a lot of IEMs outside its price range though.

Definitely better than aria bro

Hexa is a very neutral set so probably for different markets.

This is warmer has better tonality and a more thicker note weight. I’m currently already busy with my newly acquired mest mk2s and also a few more iems ( one still in transit ). So not getting one myself for now.

It’s a new set getting very good reviews

Check them out and see if it’s to your liking based on reviews.

My friend has them and he says they are very good ( he’s very experienced). I also think from the reviews that this is best set at this price point even under 100$ probably.

Could be, especially since the Chu has a non-detachable cable.

Some people were saying the Chu with the mic version definitely had static.

I used my Chu with the Qudelix 5K/etc. and so I had no static, IIRC. It might be different if you are just using it straight to the 3.5mm port/plug of the the computer.

Definitely get a dongle with physical volume control for your computer, it'll fix that issue.

Don't get the microphone version of IEMs, USB-C versions of IEMs or IEMs that have DSP (this uses USB-C), as people report static/hissing/etc. issues with them, more info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/HeadphoneAdvice/comments/11tlco4/should_i_buy_the_salnotes_7hz_type_c_version/jcvuwit/

Try to get any well-reviewed dongle with physical volume control (these are often $30-50+), it'll allow for more volume variation and help reduce/remove any background static/buzzing/hissing/etc. noise.

For the ~$10 Apple dongle, just note the reduced power if it's the EU version, or the apps needed (like UAPP, Neutron, etc.) on Android to bypass Android's DAC/etc. system in order to get the best capabilities.

There's also the ~$10+ Avani, Abigail, Conexant (CX-Pro) CX31993, JCally (various models/units), etc. Some of those cheaper dongles should be available on Amazon.

Click this sentence for more info on dongles with physical volume control (helps with reducing/remove static/buzzing/hissing/etc. noise, especially when gaming).

Click this sentence for about Andy's AudioVault or DongleMadness.

Check the other $20 IEMs like TANGZU Wan'er, Truthear HOLA, 7Hz Salnotes Zero, et cetera, those might not have static if you don't have a dongle. And they have detachable cables, so you can fix that if the stock cable is the source of static/buzzing/hissing/etc.
