I feel like your understanding of how we perceive sound is wrong, but I have neither the knowledge nor time necessary to argue with you. All I can tell you is that a speaker and IEM with matched frequency response sound completely different. I'm sure you'd agree that I'd be able to accurately tell you for any item I have never heard if it is a speaker, headphone or IEM, no matter how you EQ it as well. I see sound in shapes and colours and it is just completely different things.

The highest quality DACs are only around $10 in 1k units. With components+testing+profit, a very high-end unit like JDS Element is only $450.

What does it offer? Pitch-black background, neutral sound and sufficient power for any headphone.

A high quality DAC is transparent and doesn't colour the sound.

I've never had this problem, but it's because I wrapped my cable in a plastic spiral protector that effectively makes the cable thicker. Now my reason for the spiral protector is not to prevent tangles, it's because I have a cat who has chewed through at least half a dozen cables with soft rubber coatings (including some painfully expensive headphone cables), but he leaves hard plastic alone.

If you wanted to try it yourself, you can search for the cable protectors on amazon, they're cheap. The catch is that (a) that they make the cable a fair bit bulkier , and (b) that that they take forever to install.

I also have the same dac/amp on my desk, good choice!

The last part was about most "high end" manufacturer not holo audio in specific.
The may uses a custom locking 21 pin aviation cable to connect the dac with the psu. What i like about holo is that its straight porn with their pcb design and layout. If i'm correct, holo audio was the first one with the best usb implementation.

Yeah from what ive seen it really seems like it! It just makes the overall experience of getting that nice product, especially mabye if its ur first one.

Yeah accessories are a big deal aswell, the stock cable for my elegias made me frown a bit but its easy getting a replacement for a resonable amount so its fine i think.
