reminds me when i took my friend to visit his cousin in brooklyn at like 3 am in the morning... some guy was blasting Sucka MCs by Run DMC and it sounded like a night club in the hallway of the apartment lmao... couldn't hear a thing inside the apartment though, i found that strange.

its not "non audiophiles" its just low iq people in general. smart people value quality over everything. I was taught well by my parents when very young to value quality over quantity, my mom would say 1 pair of high quality shoes is better than having to buy 3-4 shoes that fall apart in less time.
when i hear these type of stories you guys are sharing about your friends going crazy about the price or whatever you enjoy spending your own money on makes me wonder why you keep such idiotic type of people around you lol.

I love my HD-58X, makes me wonder how the HD-660S2 sound in comparison (cheapest to highest priced 6 series)

I would suggest bending the metal arms inwards. Don't bend the top of the headband, extend them out and bend in the arms only. This increases clamp force.
I also have a headband cover similar to the Geekria, this helps a bit too by increasing the contact area but the bending was the larger effect.
Before they were ridiculously loose, now they are secure and very comfortable.

Oh yeah, you are totally right! Yeah, it's somehow not my cup of tea, maybe I had too much of it in the music school, lol. Will add it next time!

Reply to Good Drivers for Custom Headphones? by Ziffded
A lot of boutique companies like Swan Song Audio and Spirit Torino use drivers made by Nhoord Audio iirc, definitely worth a look. They seems to be popular with DIYer too.

I have nothing to add regarding your experiment that hasn’t been commented on by other posters except there’s a total absence of classical music on your list. I assume it’s not your cuppa tea, but my most critical evaluations of headphones & streaming services are based on my personal taste for classical. Having tried all 4 lossless streamers, Qobuz is the gold standard in sheer sound quality. Interface and other considerations are another matter for other discussions

You just made me realize the specs of this alleged Ananda V3 are very close to the specs of the XS. Impedance is 16 Ohm vs 18 Ohm for the XS and sensitivity is the same (92dB).
So maybe Ananda V3 is a tweaked XS with the strap style headband?
I guess we shall see soon enough.

If I had to guess, given the INSANE popularity of the Edition XS, they are putting their power into creating a V2 for that model. I could be wrong.

As someone who ripped and ruined the pleather layer of the cushioning on my old headphones, I would advise against any sort of tape usage. Velcro, on the other hand, seems like a better idea.

I run 2 ADI-2s.
One for my Martin Logan active electrostats and one for my main headphone set up.
The sound quality, features, tweaking and remote are absolutely fantastic and worth every penny.

"Why do you need more than 1 pair"
Then I proceed to show them the difference. Then I tell them about EQ and they think I'm crazy again.

I heard the new beats sounds significantly improved from last time, not sure how is it. Like even crinacle said the airpods pro is good.

I let her listen to 650 she said its good too!
I recently got her a beyerdynamic mmx100 because she needs to mic to be portable for office use and she loves the design!
After awhile she is very happy with the sound quality!
She quote” i can hear more than just bass now”

I own that same exact caliper ($9.99 from Bezos)!
I bought it solely to be able to measure IEMs so that I could have reference numbers to what dimensions do/don't work for me and to (more) accurately compare the fit and sizes of IEMs.
I do really appreciate the heads-up about them showing images with nozzle diameters! That's going to be very helpful!

I own a 650 and agree with your SO. But it doesn't matter when I put them on because I can't see them. Plus, they sound great!
spvcebound OP t1_jdphiee wrote
I know these aren't anything crazy, but they're my first pair of "real" headphones. I love them to death, the sound is very neutral and lends itself well to any genre. I also swapped the old deteriorated earcups for velour ones and they're now the most comfortable headphones I've tried.
I've never owned a headphone amp so if anyone has a recommendation for a good entry level amp, let me know!

features, filters, inputs and outputs
people spend more on TVs for their living rooms. I myself don't even watch TV so spending on a decent dac/amp and speakers/headphones is more for me.
