I did the mod today, and it works fine! Thanks, saved me from buying a new cable. I can confirm that the Tripowin Zonie balanced cable with mmcx connectors does NOT work with the Sennys without doing the mod referenced above, but with the mod done, no problems.

For under $200, the Sennheiser HD 560s or 599 are a good option. The Fostex T50RP are another good option, but you NEED a good amp for them and thicker earpads for a bigger soundstage.

There is no distortion with turbo power mode. It's only with normal mode. What happens is that when I drop down to normal mode I have to turn the volume up louder which then distorts the bass only at certain frequencies. This doesn't happen in turbo mode with volume being at the Same level
