Can I ask why this doesn't happen with lower impedance gear (such as oneodio, and marshall major 3) Both are 32 ohms and they sound just like when I plug them in a phone (but a little louder)....

Something about the treble on the Hexa bothers me. Cymbals sometimes somehow just sound “low res”. Idk how else to describe it.

The bass also seems inconsistent. Sometimes I feel they have good bass and enough bass, other times they feel bass light. It’s not a matter of fit or seal.

I really wanted to like them but I don’t find them to be as good as I hoped. I guess you can’t complain for $80 though. I like my ER4SR and Timeless AE more, but those both cost a lot more. I guess they just aren’t the “giant killers” I thought they were hyped up to be.

If you have a big head, I'd be somewhat hesitant. Having torn down the Elegia and seeing no evidence that they've changed their construction method for the headband on other headphones, a big head will probably put some stress on weak points. On the bright side, they're easy to take apart and mod with a different headband. You'll likely get many years out of the headphones before they break and it's an easy, albeit unfortunate, fix if they do.

As for sound, I have no comments. I only have experience with the Elegia and that's limited (still working on the mod).

I was actually prepared to pay $10K so this is a relief.

My TH900 is super V shaped, but i like it that way. If i want a neutral curve i'd pick my hd600.

I'm sorry. I honestly felt the same way the first week. After that they don't hurt unless I use them for more than 4hrs nonstop.

I have the 58x and personally like them for metal cause of the good quality mids and not too forward treble, as well as a decent amount of bass. Don't have many other headphones to compare them to though, but I definitely prefer them to my ATH-M40x, although I don't dislike those.
