I see you haven't tried the HD 600 (and others with the same chassis like the 580, 650, etc) headphones. They are a torture device for us mellon heads.

It's annoying that no reputable retailer stocks the 6XX in the UK. Had to resort getting mine from Ebay, still sealed though. This is the reason this time around I got the Hd600 a sit was £10 more and £100 less than the HD650 and 660

Do you find having to use 3.5mm annoying? I wanted to sidegrade from a schiit magni/apple dongle, for the bluetooth and additional control/inputs. But i find the 3.5mm headphone port to be a deal breaker. If it was quarter inch it would be the perfect dac/amp. Im thinking of going for the DX5 instead but im not sure if its worth the additional $200+

nice guitar, slightly muffled. Really recessed vocals, like the singer is standing just outside the studio. Not much texture in the drums

Same thing, good guitar but slightly muffled, mediocre drum recording.

I don't see it. There's nothign at all special about the mastering here.

Black lab, a group roughly in this genre, has much better mastering IMO

I'd guess cashing in on name? My advice, keep your expectations VERY low and don't buy until there are legit reviews out and enough time for the inevitable flaws to rear their heads.

The TWS1X was such a cluster mess (pardon my strong language) and even at 1/3 the original price Drop can't sell them. Poor sound, terrible app, dodgy battery, poor fit and comfort etc. etc. (though I'll admit I do like the color aesthetic, that's about all though).

My how fast 30 years has gone by....

You know you've done slipped when you're hoping to design something close to the quality of Beats - lol
