Strange, the DT 770 (250) is a lot harsher on the treble than the DT 1770, is the DT 1990 really THAT different from the 1770? I did have the treble peak EQ'd down a bit on the 1770, but it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the 770. Did you try to EQ the 1990 to remove the sibilance?

It's not sarcasm.
For 90-95% of tracks, 128kbps Opus 1.3.1 us psychoacoustically transparent.

They roll off harder than the 560s I owned and measure even hotter in the mids. They may be good headphones but definitely not for me.

Best ones I found for purpose are the etymotic research ER4P or ER4S or equivalent new model. Frequency response was spot on if used for mixing live music.

Aside from tube amps I never experienced noise floor on any price amps.

I like chunky volume knobs. Real talk Thats actually something I look for in amps. Makes it feel expensive and substancial Lolol.

Listen to whatever music you normally listen to. Because you have listened to them for years, you know what to expect. And you can check if you hear any improvement. Or do A/B comparison.
I wouldn't listen to other people's music or playlist. If music is new to you, there is no baseline or reference at all.

FLAC is for preservation of CDs, all my favorite bands only have remastered tracks that sound horrible available in streaming platforms. Seriously, nothing ruins Metallica's drums like quantization.
For modern computer made music, 320kbps is more than enough.

Cables are way more durable and easier to replace than bluetooth. Wired headphones usually sound better too. Of course get whatever you prefer, but for your needs I'd get something cheap and wired (the koss are a great suggestion).

Need to buy kids headphones cause of the comfort. My daughter hated all my cans when she was little. Philips made some durable and good cans. They come in wireless now. I got my two nephews an older model where you coukd remove the speakers and change em between 2. Lightweight and they come capped so even if the volume is all the way up its limited to prevent damage to their ears.

Probably won't know / be out for a while yet, still isn't on the official Moondrop site. https://moondroplab.com/en/products
They usually include a graph with their own measurement.

The people that I know who have tried them at a few events say that the driver array is good for metal and that’s about it.

If $10 IEMs can have removable cables then I don't know why Moondrop can't add them to their low end IEMs. I think most people wouldn't mind paying the extra few dollars.

Oo I can still install that on my laptop which doesn't support windows 10, thanks :) seeing as it's called APO equalizer, might also make the sound profile just a tiny iddy bit more bright as my ATH-AD500x's sound great but slightly on the warm side

Yup sounds like Focal (to my ears at least). The only 2 Focal headphones I like are the Clear MG and the Radiance. Overall I like warmer sounding gear so it makes sense

oh ok. sorry, thought it was sarcasm lol. But yeah, it's def a good bitrate for most tracks. Sometimes i got for 160 if i'm using lossy codecs just in case, but 128kbps OPUS is really good.
