That's good to hear. I had the same issue with the Clears so I traded them for a pair of Radiance

This is really interesting, I'm a bit confused about the drivers though. Are they a proprietary design you are having manufactured specifically for you, or are they available for anyone to buy online?

Now you're hating on me just because I disagree with you.
Again, unless the "similar skilled" players are two dumb silver/gold/plat skilled players, that don't have any game sense, you might get an advantage, and even so, only if the game have a good audio engine, like R6S, not in games like Valorant, APEX and most other competitive games, where audio engine is just pure garbage, where having an HD800S might distract you instead of help, because instead of just hearing the fucking footsteps, you're hearing a lot more, useless, distratcting information.
And I'll not discuss it anymore, I feel like you won't get my point, and I'll not get yours either.

You don't even get the idea. The dude will DIE listening to Elegias! They're extremely shouty even for me :)) Focal Clear is a lot more balanced headphone than Elegia

If the Arya's are on the table, and you want more dynamics and tactility, also consider the HE6se v2 - assuming you are based in the US.

Some people have found it to be a bit of lottery with these, but all I can share is my own experience, which I've owned since March of 2021, and has been flawless. Your amp should be able to drive them too, and if anything, it may finally be getting a real workout. :)

Ear sizzling is the best way I can describe the 1990s. The 770s had a bit of sibilance too but acceptable for me. When I owned the 1990s(about a year and a couple months ago) I wasnt very knowledgeable about EQ yet. If I owned them today, I'd definitely give it a shot because they were great otherwise. They were very heavy too which I didn't think I'd ever care about but was pretty noticable. I just feel like I get 80% of the sound with the 770s and have found signatures I like better at this point.

Again, I don't have issue with bitrate. I'm fine with 320kbps even 192. I have issues with YouTube compression. As you said, indie bands do not have the best production, but compressing it makes it worse.

Youtube does volume normalization through the web player and through their mobile apps. It is not applied to music during encoding.

Only $300? Can't get a decent volume knob for peanuts.

Small indie bands have shitty production anyways, a higher bitrate won't help much, if the song is good, enjoy it for the artistic merit.
Also support them, they'll invest more in production if the demo does well, I've seen this happening a couple times.

But the Fourier series is "multiple sound waves at the same time with just one driver". That's precisely my point!

I found this one at $249, refurbished, at Walmart. Do you think it worth it? I don't live in US, just importing to here. That model here is around $490
