It could drive it, (edit: meaning it worked… but didn’t get very loud) but only in high gain mode did it get enough volume to be enjoyable. ASR noticed this, too.

I asked Schitt tech support and they said this was normal behavior for how they designed it... maybe to make running IEMs less confusing.

Plenty of power, but a fair amount of distortion it seems.

Haha, good guess, but no, they were on the right way. Most things sounded correct, but there were just a few moments where the imaging was off. The game I was playing has Dolby Atmos support, which normally works very well, but it might have edge cases that don't play nice with how the Sundara images.

lol. On a positive note, the paint didn’t chip on my unit at all. Some people blame me for wearing these 30 min after the shower but I always dry my ears and my other IEMs never had similar issues. If this led to the glue dissolve, I‘m pretty sure people living in areas with high humidity experience this problem too. Or people who do work outs with these.

I have the QC35 and the XM3. I've had 2 pairs of XM3 that pick up a faint rumbling noise in one ear, it doesn't go away with reflashing the firmware or anything. The XM3 I bought, 3rd pair, that doesn't have that problem came with a cracked headband, it's currently sitting in pieces as I had to desolder 12 tiny wires to replace the cracked part.

It's possible you got a firmware update on your bose that nerfed ANC.

I vote, replace your Bose earpads and use those till they break and then buy something neither bose nor sony if you want an improvement, ANC headphones are starting to get some quality options like Focal Bathys. I personally won't buy any new bluetooth gear that doesn't support LDAC, Aptx-Lossless or at least Aptx-HD.

The Dekoni Stella leather ear pads supposedly cut down that honky midrange area (more in the 1.5k to 2k area) and lift the frequency below 1khz. If you like the rest of the Focal Clear OG this may do the trick for you. I have ordered a pair of the dekoni earpads but for maintenance reasons; the stock earpads inevitably degrade relatively quickly.

I can hear the difference between FLAC and Lossless compression, but, the difference is so slight that it's barely noticeable. And that difference is more noticeable with MP3/4 format than OGG VORBIS, I don't know what black magic is in OGG VORBIS, but there are some songs that sound better than the CD.

So I just came across this post and yeah.. same. I bought some DT 770’s to get away from noise and protect my ears. I do have tinnitus and all I got was as you described, pressure on my ears and somewhat painful discomfort.

I have no idea what to do now lol.
