I'm super glad to hear that. The soundstage and separation are good for a closed back.

Go for Hifiman HE6seV2 (new for $449 or open box for $429).
Buy a cheap speaker amp from AliExpress and a XLR female to bananas male adapter.
Get open grills, change the pads and the cable, do the bass boss.
GG.
Enjoy audio Nirvana!

Yeah effectively you have lean/cold headphone driven by lean/cold dac/amp. Otherwise normally speaking DX3 Pro+ is a respectable dac/amp combo.
But over time I realize headphone + dac + amp is a math problem LOL. End result is all that matters.
So yeah probably need a warmer dac or amp. Good luck!

I'm failing to see the correlation between a shower and filters falling out. It's not like you wore them in the shower. I guess it's possible that moisture could damage something but, wearing them once 30 minutes after a shower should not even dissolve the shittiest of shit tier glue.
I realize these are an ultra budget option. But it's not like what separates the Chu from the Blessing is superior adhesives. Just seems more plausible that something else was wrong here.

It’s just the bass, most Hifimans lack this. You can try Monolith 1060C with recessed mids or 1070C without recessed mids.
Monolith 1570 will have more depth.

Might wanna give the Quarks DSP or 7Hz Zero a go instead if you want a new pair.

I hope you still have it :) pretty sure it will be fine.
I still have no idea which ZMF to save up for. Living in Europe make the decision even harder since Atriums cost 3k and more here. Customs fees and even some taxes on top and suddenly you're paying 500$ more :/

I'm using a Topping Dx3 Pro+ which should have enough power and is said to be very transparent, which may not be a good thing for the Sundara!

I had the same issue with D5200 upgrade to flagship D9200. I could hear EVERY note. Clarity went way up but it just sounds.... Boring?
I later realize for me at least Tonality > Technicality. So I'd rather listen to something less refined but to my taste rather than something more refined but not to my taste.
So as you said maybe Sundara is just too sterile for your taste. As much as most "audiophile" say they don't want midbass, it adds the extra warmth that's needed in most situations. For myself I also realize I can't use headphones that doesn't have treble sparkle and vocal presence. So first you need to find your preference.
That being said, what are you using to drive the Sundara? Sundara need a lot of power to sing. I've heard of people who switched amp and completely changed the sound. One recent example I read is the new FiiO K7 seems to pair well. Otherwise try to look for beefier / warmer amp. I imagine THX 999 would be a poor pairing since it's said to be cold/sterile. Topping amp probably not good either since it's also lean/clean sounding.

I'll be honest I'm not sure. I have all of the original paperwork and tech sheet with it. I would probably have to email them and check but that's a good call.

Nope... Never had good experience with planars for FPS going in particular... Don't know why
atyne_mar t1_iya9h96 wrote
In my experience, DDs are usually better for spatial localization than planars. I don't mean that any DD is better than any planar, but in general, the best imaging on planar is not as good as the best imaging on DD.
Sundara is IMO decent but nothing special. In your case, it's probably more about closed-back vs open-back. Or bloated mess vs clean-sounding headphones.

That's so good to hear, I bought a L30 II from linsoul on Amazon due to warranty (I'm in Brazil), it's still in between sorting facilities in dongguan (funny name for a city dOngGuAn), and you've just described everything I was hoping for, coming from a soundblaster G6 paired with the x2hrs and Anandas, thank you fellow dude :)
