6xx has the same soundstage (or lack thereof) as the 600 but with more mid bass & not much sub bass. I returned them. I liked 560s way better than both of those. I haven’t tried 660s but guessing it’s more of the same. I would try the Edition XS. They have good soundstage width & depth & have good sub bass as well, I really like them

Interesting. Why is it more comfortable compared to the other forms?

But how do they compare to in-ear and on-ear headphones? Clip ons aren't one I've ever used so have no idea how comfortable they are.

I had Panasonic RP_HZ47 that were kickass, but it was 11 years ago. Can't tell you shit about the sound signature, but I remember they were great for electric guitars

I like how they're measuring 40kHz

Depends. I wore Elecom EHP-810WH for years until the pads and cable disintegrated. They sounded great and were comfortable to wear. The even better thing was that you could plug the cable into either side and it used a plain 3.5 mm cable.
Too bad they sounded like this: http://www.elecom.co.jp/news/200506/ehp-810/image/graph_L.jpg

The Koss KSC75 / 75X are the go-to for this style if that's what you want, they're stupid good for the cheap price. A lot of us have modded headbands on them, but they're fine with the clip on as well, if you find it comfortable.

The Cadenzas are fine, but the PR1 does everything better, and the 7hz Zero's are very close to the Cadenzas.

I think the only reason people consider clip-ons is because of koss ksc75, if it wasn't clip-on then I think they would be pretty much out of the conversation

I have one each with the qdc, 2pin and mmcx ones and I have been using all of them on and off for a while. No issues with either so far. I'm most worried about the mmcx one because that's the one I see broken most anecdotally here. Don't know if it matters but I don't wrap cables while storing IEMs.

Out of the ones in your list I own I like the KZ PR1 most (paired with a good cable and playing high res music on a Zishan Z4). Curious to hear the Cadenzas, havent heard about these before.
KZ PR1
Moondrop Aria
KZ ZEX
Salnotes 7Hz Zero Dioko (I dont have the Zero)

Imagine it being older than Vorbis and Opus. Early 2000s.
Maybe the lack of documentation killed it, but in fact it's one of the most epic lossy codecs I have seen.

Yeah, considering it's my first time hearing musepack existing.. I can imagine it might not be as widely supported.. :/

It depends on the IEM but it's often a separate bit, this does mean it can sometimes be replaced if it breaks, although many IEMs this would be quite involved, possibly involving a full re-shell. Some IEMs can be disassembled and put back together, glued faceplates are common for example, or IEMs that separate into two parts which are glued together. Some use screws. There are modders who take apart IEMs routinely.

I wouldn't be overly concerned about it, but I would be moderately careful as well. I do have a policy of not frequently disconnecting and reconnecting IEM cables, that does wear them out and they can become loose.
Some 2 pin designs are worse than others, flush can have issues but there are some like the Symphonium Helios where it's a flush 2 pin on the end of a stalk, this virtually guarantees you are going to bend the pins. Also while some IEMs (like the Monarch Mk2) are totally flush, others which look flush (Variations, Blessing 2) are actually slightly recessed and this slight recess probably does help a bit as long as you have a cable that mates properly with it (most 2 pin will, the vast majority of even flush 2 pin cables still have a slight rectangular plastic protrusion that goes into these connectors).

Using Plexamp for 192 Opus transcode. Works fine for the limited resolution of my phones DAC.
might consider getting a dongle to give m Tin P1 Max a bit more power to work with. Planar's are hungry

Hd58x and hd660s are pretty similar in the upper mids and treble. The HD58x are warmer and extend lower, so it’s basically an even more veiled hd660s. The hd660s does have more resolving ability tho. I would say that the hd660s is quite different from the rest of the hd6x0 line. The hd660s doesn’t extend as well on both ends compared to the rest of the lineup (hd600,hd580,hd650/6xx).

Nine different codecs 100-pass recompression test
AAC wins over 100 decode-reencode cycles. But as /u/klogg4 says it's not likely to matter with a single re-encode. I use the same earbuds as you and I don't really worry about this, I mostly use Spotify and Tidal.
AAC is decoded and re-encoded for BT transmission, it's not passed directly to the earbud. But it's also particularly resistant to generational loss.

Open ear and no head squeezing. You can adjust the clips on them (bend the wires) so that they barely touch and basically just float
