Hey everyone!

I was hoping if anyone knows how to access the Tudeh Constitution. I'm also looking for any primary source documents dated before the 1953 Iran Coup, specifically documents that describe the abundance of oil in Iran or the fears of the spread of communism.

Thank you!

There's literally loads of minority groups that were in the wars that are ignored or only slowly being brought up like this now. Aboriginal units on the Australian front who were never properly acknowledged, African American soldiers who were never honoured. We could do the right thing and put these people in the books where they belong, rather than bury our heads in the sand. I don't see how it's a bad thing? I mean, doesn't it just show we can be better and do better?

I don't think I'll ever understand people!

This question is maybe too broad/meta, but what are the most accurate sources on... how everyday european medieval life worked? For example some questions I have:

  • What techniques were used to make clothing and construct buildings?
  • How were simple fires for warmth, cooking and lightning lit?
  • How accessible were parchement and ink?
  • How did trade and trade routes develop?

I like to think I'm half-decent at doing research, but so far I've only ever found video and blog posts of questionable accuracy... is there any book that answers questions of this sort with the highest accurcacy possible?

There's a fairly recent book out called Half American that talks about the service of Black Americans in the military and specifically mentions some of this units accomplishments. The book was great and I'd really recommend it. It's by Matthew Delmont.

Who are some LGBT+ people who made history, outside of the arts or 21st century politics?

To my mind, I can only think of these gay (by modern standards) men:

  • Alan Turing (father of modern computing and AI)
  • Sacred Band of Thebes (150 male couples who defeated the Spartans in battle, among others)
  • Mark Bingham (led the effort to fight terrorists aboard Flight 93 on 9/11)
  • Glenn Burke (first out professional baseball player, who likely invented the high-five)

Back in the 80s I used to go there when it was a ruin. It was called Treasure Trap for a while and was home to D&D LARPing. It was pretty off the hook, you had to assume your character as soon as you went through the gatehouse onto the grounds. The action was 24/7 and on more than one occasion we were raided in the early hours. It was meant to be acting but the fighting was actually pretty brutal. The 1st day we ever went 2 people were take away in an ambulance on 2 separate occasions. It was a simpler time long before the internet. Edit - found a link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasure_Trap
