Oh man that kinda sucks to me, I was hoping that it just has to be genuine no matter who does it, thanks though

Edit: that’s what I was told but I see that they’re wrong…

Yes you would still get the message. Apple and apple authorized shops have the necessary hardware that tells the phone the new part is genuine and has been installed by an authorized person to turn off that message

You realize batteries can fail in ways other than capacity, yeah?

The amount the battery holds (capacity) Is not the same as current.

One is how much it can hold, one is how much power it can supply per second until the capacity is depleted.

Anything from heat, cold, or chemical failure in the battery can cause this kind of issue, you can have over 100% batt health and the battery can still be a lemon if it drops cells or electrolytes cause expansion.

I usually upgrade when I feel it is „necessary“ or I get a good deal on a used one. My upgrade path so far: 4, 5, 5s, 6s, 7, XS, 12 pro max, 13 pro max. No real pattern in upgrading for me. My old phones usually stay in the family (me => parents => kids), so the latest moment to upgrade mine is if one phone in the family cannot run the latest iOS.

If apple won't work on it, any iphone is probably common enough to get work done at most phone repair shops. There's even diy kits you can order! Might not be able to get the official battery though so like your screen you'll lose something on that route, usually the state of health feature.

Uhhh… On paper, I would say they won’t service it because they’re technically dealing with a non-genuine apple part/service that was done to your phone. In reality, they might just let it slide(?) Never know until u try

Thanks that’s really helpful. I charge my phone every nigth around 10pm or later and use it around 5am or 6 however my battery is not the best like it’s fine for most days but sometimes I use it a bit more and then i have to charge it by 3 pm if not it last all day but I guess that prob is not helping
