Reply to How long should one continue using a new iPhone until replacing it another new iPhone? by Party-Bet-4003
I think it definitely depends on each person and their usage. I upgrade every 4 years but I know some people who will hold onto phones that are practically begging to be replaced because "it still works". I don't think most people should be upgrading every year though, the improvements are too marginal to be worth the money.

I have one of these on my 13 pro, no marks left. I did read that some people had the tiny pill shaped magnet come out but mines still fine.

I have a Magfit case on my 14. They make official MagSafe pop sockets now. I have one and it works really well. This case is SO worth it, I love MagSafe.

It’s not a “warranty issue” when your battery fails after 2.75 years.

4-5 years is the rule of thumb for me.

The presence of 3rd party parts won’t prevent you from having a repair done. However, if the 3rd party parts are damaged (ex. fall apart) during repair you’ll be responsible for their full out of warranty repair cost.

Does a good resale value help your cause?

The fact that Apple supports their products so long is a major reason why I just got my first iPhone. Hoping to avoid the urge to upgrade as often as I did with Android (due to multiple manufacters, different features, and limited support).

Is it good to get the magfit? It's all new to me. What if I want to use a pop socket? Then am I better off without?

Appreciate it my man! Have experienced yellowing too on my old spigen clear cases, this one I dont think is going to yellow. This case goes really well with the space black phone.

Been rocking an Ultra Hybrid Mag on my 12 mini for a year now. No imprints so far and the protection is so good I'm no longer afraid to let my phone fall whenever it decides to. The only downside is that the sides have been yellowing fast in the last couple months, but as yours looks to be tinted black this shouldn't be an issue for you.

Reply to comment by Feacrali in I hope this isn’t too common to ask, would I still get that in Settings if I were to replace the display myself even if the replacement is genuine? I mean, is there something about it that Apple and approved technicians do (that others can’t) so that it doesn’t show up? by Feacrali
If you order trough self service repair you have to call apple suport later and have them pair the new part with the phone.

No. The back of the phone is glass.

I remember there was a story about someone going through that program. Apple basically shipped them ALL the necessary equipment to make sure everything is programmed correctly.

There are machines where you reprogram the screen to have the same serial number as the OG

What if one chooses to do it under the self-service program? I’m assuming that message wouldn’t appear then?
