iOS gets wonky as hell once you get under 1GB of storage. You’ve probably already done so at the advice of others, but going forward be it this phone or future ones try and keep it above one GB (or for safety, a few GBs) remaining. Same goes for things like laptops and desktops as well. You’d think remaining storage wouldn’t have such adverse affects but modern devices cache so much to the internal storage that OS’s invariably start acting up once it has no more space to do so.

I still have a phone on my account Verizon is “waiting on a return” from UPS where, in the UPS exception notes it says “package fell off the back of the truck”. It’s dumb how none of this is being policed or QC by either side.

Because I was able to, I got the Canadian version of the 14 Pro because it does have both a physical SIM tray and an eSIM. What you went through is exactly why I went this route, even though the Canadian iPhones are a bit more expensive. I travel internationally often enough and just don’t trust the world is totally ready for seamless eSIM set up just yet.

UPS delivered a phone about ten years ago the box and anti tamper tape was intact but all the air pillows inside of the box were deflated. All I could figure out was the box was slammed multiple times in an attempt to damage the contents. Luckily the phone was made to military specs as to durability. Still have it but it’s 3G.

OP I would report the phone stolen to Verizon since you still have the box so it can’t be activated on their network and I’m pretty sure the IMEI goes into a national database that all the carriers use. I think Apple can also put activation lock on it too if you call them.
