I’m using different brand ($48 for 1 case) so I can’t speak much about Caudable.

I do notice that the premium cases ($40 and above) generally offer good enough protection for everyday drop. The only concern is their quality. For example, cases break down or yellowing.

Personally I would choose brands which offer lifetime warranty like Mous (and Bullstrap I think). It gives me a peace of mind knowing that my $50-$60 might not be wasted in about 1-2 year.

Though with that being said, I still picked the other brand (just 3 month warranty) because their case look better lol.

That first thin charge bar looks like it was plugged in for ~20mins about 10:30-10:50pm and was charging properly as the battery level is rising. The second charge bar looks like it was plugged in from 12am, and for the whole hour, but was not charging as battery level declined till it shut off. You say ‘it went on for a couple mins at 12:43’ but the blue SOT bar directly below it shows the screen was on for the almost the full hour between 12:00 and 1:00am. Where you using it, or not, between 12-1am?

If you were NOT using it more that the above ‘couple mins’ in that 12-1am zone, then one common possible explanation is that you accidentally swiped the screen on and to the left when putting it down for the night. That will activate the camera, which doesn’t time out. The camera is also power-consuming and heat-generating enough so that the phone might suspend charging until later due to high heat (do you use a fast charger?) - it would leave a notification of that, but of course you won’t see it with accidental activation, and a dead batt shut-down would erase it.

Also seen quite a few folks with iOS16 bugs showing plugged-in, yet not charging, graphs… but those cases did not show active SOT blue bars below.

Highlight that 12-1am SOT blue bar to see what App was running for that hour.

There's no way to get into the phone without passcode. Trying to guess too many times will also permanently disable it. That's the point of the passcode security - it's encrypted and Apple won't be able to help with this. Period.

Apple can help you with gaining access to their appleid, for iCloud data and activation lock on the phone. This requires a formal legal process, and varies depending on where you're located.

5G availability is so patchy at the moment in the areas I frequent (and likely to be so for some time) that it is effectively an irrelevant factor in reasons to upgrade.

And even if this were not so, for most of my uses 4g is comfortably fast enough. So, saving money all round - no cost of upgrade, no increase in network cost. Excellent!

yeah, I just checked the same but they also have $45 limit on free shipping and the synthesis is only costing $35 so it is better to get two cases instead of paying for the shipping fees I feel.

Someone reading this from India (especially Mumbai), I am ready to share a case with them. I just want the Synthesis one for my iPhone 14 Pro Max.

I think it's more the lighting in a store is a lot brighter than you'd have at home and in many office environments. Also you're not using it as you would at home or sitting at a desk. It's not a true representation of your use case. Even from day 1 I never noticed it unless I tilted it and looked for it.

Where shows I plugged in at midnight? How was charging not activated when it was on charge though,So my phone knocks off when it depletes even though it’s on charge?

Yeah I went on it for a couple mins at 12:43 to to the toilet and then I came back and it was dead so put it on to charge about quarter to 1am

Oh right so it shut off whilst charging? Or do you mean the point when it died at 12:45 am? Yeah I used it at 5 for a few mins then a lot from 7.
