Believe it or not: Value. iPhones get like 5+ years of updates. A thousand bucks over 5 years is better than $800 every 2 or 3. I used my iPhone 6S for so long and probably wouldn't have upgraded if it could hold a charge for more than a day. For reference, I did the $29 battery replacement which cost Apple a ton of people upgrading their phones.
I still believe the iPhone 6S is still usable. It never felt slow or anything.

I used to alternate back and forth between apple and android. Now iOS includes all the features I liked in android, no reason to switch anymore

Came over from Samsung in 08/2018: bloatware, Android OS updates late in availability because of Samsung, very limited number of up dates, in its Playstore you could erroneously update beyond the Android OS in the device rendering an app useless (personal experience).

I went with the iPhone in 2009 when I wanted to experience the multi-touch display and also a phone that was like an alien these days. Never regretted ever since!

I feel exactly the same. Its fucked up my navigation. Guess i finally have to remove my pop socket and mount the phone on the dashboard, lol

I had an iPod touch I got for free as part of buying a laptop in university (back when that use to be a thing Apple did) and I instantly loved it. So I upgraded to a full phone. My first iPhone was the 4 in 2011.

This is obviously another example of the Mandala Effect.
I brought my iphone from another version of this universe where it could turn upside down but apparently here it never was a thing.

I AGREE!
I miss this accidental feature. I could plug in my phone and let it charge and set it in a cupholder with the cord sticking up, and didn't have to cram the charge cord down in the cupholder with it being smushed against the bottom, and I could still see the turn by turn nav directions on screen.
But NO, Apple decided (I guess) that it is better that nobody should ever be able to set their phone upside down. Some moron probably kept complaining "I keep accidentally grabbing my phone upside down but it shows the right way and I'm confused"

I had an 8, and it never did this.
You definitely had a long lasting bug somehow. :)

No app, my phone used to do it any time it was orientation unlocked and upside down. It was great when i wanted to charge my phone while using it because I could just flip it and give the cord more leeway.

You are very welcome! Triple system camera is better. A friend of mine switched to 13 mini last year and he says that he lacks the telephoto lens, however he thought he didn’t use it that often.

Good camera as to taking pictures like going camping/hiking, vacation or just flowers etc.

Define “Good Camera” because again these devices are different. 13 mini lacks the Telephoto lens, ProRAW.

All i need is: Good Camera, and iOS Support for atleast 2 years, and they both have that, so I can’t choose.

These are two completely different devices. Depends on what exactly do you need from your phone.

Thanks for your response!
I did see a few videos (using Apple's official self service kit) on how to remove the screen. It doesn't look like the skin needs to be removed...but then again, I'm not an Apple repair tech employee so I could be talking out of my backside...
Just out of interest...do you work for Apple?

Yeah, that’s never been a thing unless a specific app did it.
bigtech100 t1_j5tga65 wrote
There’s a sled the device can go in. kinda like a slide on metal case so suction can be applied to the rear as well as the front. I personally try to save customer customized stuff done to the device only if I really can’t do the repair I will take it off.

It depends on the skin and how much it covers. They do need to apply heat to remove the glue and this might affect the skin. Take a look here for a XR teardown. Apple may take the skin off if it makes it easier for them but you can always ask them to avoid that if at all possible.

I'm not bothered about replacing the screen protector if if needs to be removed. That's easy.
The skin is a different story, as it takes more time and effort to line it up properly so both the charging port and screws are uncovered...
But if the skin doesn't need to be removed, then great!

You said you like camping and hiking 13 mini is smaller so it fits in any pockets and bags and doesn’t take too much place
