I mean this seriously - you should look into a larger phone like the Pro Max.

thermal envelope is bigger. The mini has the tightest internals so its gonna heat up faster since its the same CPU.

theres really no good answer for your problem but its an intriguing one :-)

Cooling down a component cpu like an intel or Ryzen involves thermal paste between the die heat spreader and heat sink/fan (or de-lidding, in extreme cases) - not something easily accomplished with a mobile phone.

as dumb as this sounds, maybe just point a regular desk fan at yourself/phone while gaming. The airflow will help a bit (but not as effective as your water boarding technique … LOL, i kid, i kid.)

You obviously don’t need Pro for a beginner.

Only 13 and 14 series have long battery life.

Only Pro Max and 14 Plus have the largest size (6.7 inches).

SE’s screen is tiny.

11 is good enough for a beginner with a cheap budget.

Regular 13 is probably the best option right now.

don't listen to bullshit mental gymnastics trying to explain why this is "normal". This is a bug, plain and simple. It shouldn't look like that no matter what. Try shooting with lightroom or any other app that has non-proraw RAW and see what it looks like, should be fine then

This is not a universal experience. I had an 11 Pro for about 2.5 years. I just moved into a 14 PM. Pictures are great in my experience. I’ve not taken a ton yet, but the initial ones are absolutely fine. I would hope/expect with all the negative feedback they are getting regarding the post processing that they will be gradually improving it over the next year or so in the updates.

The dynamic island isn’t something that gets used a lot by me. That said, apart from Reddit I don’t have any social media apps nor do I use any sports apps which seem to be the main usage for the DI. But - I don’t find it intrusive or in the way or annoying or anything like that, even when I’m watching videos. It’s main use is the Pixel Pal when browsing Reddit on Apollo.

It does cut a bit more into videos on full screen, but since most widescreen media seems to still be designed to be cropped to 4:3 viewing - I’m never really focused on that section of the screen. I’ve had the 14PM since launch and never experienced any of the glitches I’ve seen posted to this subreddit.

I went 13PM to the 14PM and the true benefits to me are the AOD and the peak brightness outdoors. If you spend any significant time outside, the 14s ability to pump up the brightness is incredible. You will be able to see the DI cutout clearly in direct sunlight as well - so if that would bother you I would consider maybe the 13PM if you really need an upgrade, or just hold out another 9 months till the 15.

But personally I wouldn’t purchase it solely based on the dynamic island. It’s kind of like the equivalent of an LED notification on a device. A nice gimmick - but not a reason to purchase the device.

Very useful. I use safari to listen to YouTube videos when out on a walk/run and i can start the video, swipe to close safari then tap dynamic island right away and resume playing from there.

advantages are twofold - ads are skipped since YouTube seems to only do ads when safari is inn the foreground and two, screen goes off and phone is in standby so it sips battery.

love it!

edit: you can indeed do this with your current iPhone. This is more an iOS “hack” but DI’s interface is slightly more convenient - until Google modifies YouTube and stops it LOL

From what I've read just now Halide should be able to – they offer "ProRAW" and "RAW", so there has to be a difference in… rawness :D

For Lightroom I just found complaints from September and October of last year and a standard "we're working on it". Don't know what's the situation now.
