is it cool to have yea, but is it a necessity no. There aren't many apps that use it..yet. I mean that will change as more developers will start to incorporate it. I like that I can put sports scores on the island and it shows the live score of games.

This is idiotic. People are just selling their 13s to upgrade to 14s.

This question is too broad. On its own the 14 pro is a spectacular phone. However if you are comparing it to a 13 pro it’s not really a large upgrade at all. If you’re comparing it to a 12 pro it’s a solid upgrade just because the 120hz screen is a massive difference. Anything older than a 12 I’d say it’s a definite upgrade.

All that does is forces the use of the telephoto lense, right? I thought I’ve read that the new cameras actually destroyed the minimum focus distance.

I’m going to strongly disagree on the upgrade from a 12 pro. I made the move from the 12 pro to the 14 pro and the 120hz screen is worth the upgrade alone. The rest of the phone is more debatable but that high refresh rate is a game changer once you get used to it. Is it worth upgrading from the 13 pro which also has a 120hz screen though? That’d I’d say definitely not worth it.

Just my 2cents. It’s a cool looking feature and is definitely nice to have, but it’s not a selling point on its own to upgrade to the pro series for dynamic island alone. I think the pro series is worth the upgrade for many other reasons, but the dynamic island is a “nice to have” feature more than a necessity.

Yeah and when you’re working with little bouncy lizards who can be 3ft away in a blink you usually want to be closer so you can grab them if they start making a sprint for a ledge lol and being too far away and trying to zoom in will be pretty tedious

Because the extra camera hardware is putting you closer to the subject, other apps are using digital zoom, so you’re degrading the image quality the more that you zoom in, which is why I’m assuming Apple doesn’t put that in their camera app.

Idk but trying to zoom in and take a pic of anything fcking sucks in the iPhone. I see my cute chickens few feet away from me and take the picture but it is soooo shitty.

Fun fact that some people don’t know is that the built in Apple notes app will scan documents using the camera and save to your iCloud account. Just recently found out about this!
