Honestly the two phones are so similar I don’t think there’s any point upgrading unless you’re quite literally getting the phone for free. You could argue in fact that the 12 Pro Max is actually the better phone out of the two.

I’d stick with the 12 and go with a sim-only plan. Not much point going with a 14 Plus unless you’re upgrading from something older like a 7 or 8 Plus.

I maybe wrong, but unless you’re in dire need of the super specs that the pro offers. I think the plus is just as good. Like I mentioned before, I had a 12 pro max and in my personal experience it didn’t do “wonders for me”. I just got it because I like the big screen. So now that they have a big screen iPhone I don’t think I’ll ever need to by a pro again unless something in the future requires me to own a pro. Thanks for your input. Very helpful by the way.

I was upgrading from an 8 to a new phone. The Pro Max was not available and had a considerable back log wait. So I opted for the 14 Plus. I have been extremely happy with it, am not missing anything that only the Pro offers. It paired well with my watch ultra and AirPods Pro.

So what if I’m not elite with a Pro Max? I’m happy.

Yeah I’m sure it is. I have the 12 pro max, but long story short I have to switch carriers and I can’t bring my 12 pro max. The carrier is having a promotion on basically all phones except the pro models. That’s why I’m gonna have to go with the 14 plus. It’s pretty much the same size, but the pricing isn’t— in this instance.

you don't have to buy in to the eco system. i just found that apple products fit my needs better. you can still use any earbuds or anything else you want to. you can still use the google system as you please. you're not forced to using only apple apps. i regularly use google maps, gmail, google calndar, waze, and a lot of other apps that aren't specific to ios. i was a die hard android fan my whole life but apple was simple and everything worked well. i'm sure there are plenty of good android phones around these days too.

As typical fashion, to me it feels redundant and gimmicky. whatever you can do with it, you can do just as well and faster with other menus and gestures. clicking it brings you to the app which you can also swipe ur home bar for without having to reach so far up. holding it opens a small menu which again ppl that are used to doing with control center or from the app itself will do faster. dynamic island esthetically is pleasing but lacking in practice

Pros you don’t, 14PM, enable macro control in settings, then hit macro mode that pops up when close to an object in the camera. You can take pictures centimeters away from an object super clear and detailed.

Look how much more detailed the floor and lighting looks on the 14 plus though, I would just return it and get the Pro. 14Pro Max, With macro mode enabled, I can take crazy ultra detailed shots from an inch away with my lens basically on the object, no issues whatsoever. Then take it off for photos further away and those will show how good the upgrade is with distance detail, it’s actually incredible. You’d be surprised at the level of detail vs the XS it’s a big difference.
