That’s the icon for the Apple Store app

Have my iPhone 12 just over 2 yrs, still going strong. The color fades indeed but that’s what I like about the leather cases. Gives them a bit of character.

Reply to Dynamic island by alexman510
Visually the notch takes up less screen space than the dynamic island and they could have incorporated the same functionality to a notch … but aesthetically the dynamic island is more appealing. I like the dynamic island overall but I do find its location can be a bit intrusive when viewing some content.

If an app is offloaded sometimes the system name comes up. If you take a look on your mac there are folders with this naming scheme like com.apple.CalendarWidget.CalendarUpNextWidget or com.apple.findmy.FindMyWidgetItems

I bought the blue leather as my annual allotment for oem accessories the same year I got my 12PM. After a few months it wore to black in the corners and started flaking in random spots. I haven’t used it since.

Yea that’s what I was trying to say basically. iOS is still more fluid in general than android, but the difference is pretty small when you have two high refresh rate phones to compare. I have a Pixel 7 (non pro) which has a 90hz display, a Galaxy S22 which has 120hz, an iPhone 14 pro with 120hz and an iPhone 12 with 60hz; and the difference between the first three with 90-120hz screens is really small honestly, but the 60hz on my iPhone 12 feels like the stone ages comparatively. I think if Apple just upped the standard iPhones to 90hz no one would really be able to tell the difference between the standard and pro models in terms of software experience.

Heard these have taken a nosedive in quality over the last 2 years. Anyone have experience with recent ones?

Leather ones by Apple. Always had them and only need to buy one for each phone.
Just to be sure: I use my phone over 3 yrs

I disagree. I have a Pixel 6 Pro which has a 120hz display, and while scrolling through websites might be comparable, iOS animations make ProMotion so much better. Honestly when I checked out the 14 Pro in an Apple Store I couldn't believe both it and my phone were running at the same refresh rate. ProMotion is unbelievably good.

Cheap and durable. They provide excellent protection without being too thick for my liking. I also really like the sides, they have a nice texture and slight finger grooves. And they have options with MagSafe.
I’ve used this model case for my last three iPhones and plan to continue with future iPhones.

Nice. I use an otter box case for my iPad. Might look into one for my iPhone.

I have been using Otterbox cases since my iPhone 4. Dropped phone dozens of times from considerable heights. Have had a phone on my car dash, went around a corner too fast and the phone went flying out the window onto the road.
Never broken a screen, never cracked a case.
I’m currently rocking a clear Otterbox Symmetry with MagSafe on my iPhone 14 Plus.

Get an android phone with a 120hz screen and it will feel as smooth as the iPhone generally. iPhone is hard to beat for smoothness though.

Could be the screen. The XR uses an LCD panel which in my opinion looks way better than the OLED panel on the 12. Also TrueTone can be toggled on and off in Control Center submenu when you hold the brightness scale.

It probably varies. I haven’t experienced most bugs people been having on my 14 Pro.

I have not. It doesn’t happen often to my phone so I just brushed it off. Thought I was the only one having the issue honestly. I think I’ve been experiencing this since 16.2.

Strange because it works fine on my 14 Pro.

Hi everyone! I'm updating from an ancient 6 and was hoping to get a 13 Pro but I'm having trouble finding one unlocked or Verizon new. Does anyone have experience with Verizon certified pre-owned phones (they're available in "Great" condition) or advice on reputable places to buy 13 Pros? I really want that Pro macro camera, and I don't see any real advantage to the 14 Pro aside from the fact that it's apparently way easier to buy.
