I understand what you mean. But maybe the point of apps is that you need to have elements optimised much better than websites - eliminating the need to zoom on things. What you still might want to zoom into is things like pictures - which you have to tap to open 'view' mode to zoom in.

i had the same issue, thats because of apple pay, you can disable it. Settings > Wallet > Double click thingy > toggle it off. Now it should be fine. (its because the iPhone waits for you to double click to open wallet)

If you have any function set to double clicking the lock button it adds a delay to waking up because it’s waiting for the second press.

Do you have double click for apple pay or any accessibility settings?

I also use Otterbox and swear by them. Have had them on every phone and only broke a screen when I slipped on ice with the phone in my hand and landed on it full force, screen down on gravel (no way any case would save it in that situation). My dad has his 5s fly off the roof of his car on the highway on-ramp. Other that some melt marks on the case from the skidding, the phone was fine. Had one incident awhile back when I bombed down a hill on my longboard, got speed wobbles, fell off, and landed on left side where my phone was in my pocket. I had shorts on so the phone was on the side of my leg. I landed full force on it, thankfully, and didn’t get my leg ripped up. The plastic part of the case did break, but the phone and I were fine.

Also they have a good lifetime warranty if it breaks. Paid $10 for the shipping and handling and got a new case mailed to me when my old one broke from the fall on ice.

No, as far as I remember when I had an Apple product before broken screens were not covered and you had to pay a lot to get the screen fixed which is why everyone was all crazy about screen protectors. Now if it breaks, oh well, $100 to fix it.
