My iPhone 14Pro Max displayed “charging paused due to heat” multiple times when charging on beside table so I’ve gone back to 20W charger and cable at home. Battery health dropped a month after purchase at release also. I still MagSafe charge in the car though but it’s mounted to the air vent for cooling.

Heat is a thing, however Apple tested those things very well to not have the same issue as with Airpower.

I use magsafe every now and then. but I generally prefer wired, half an hour is enough for me to get by.

Odd, I have the same model with apple pay but don’t have that problem. It turns on immediately (even before I fully let go of the button) but if I press the button a second time (for apple pay) it will just open the menu above the lock screen.

Nothing that revolutionary, but how about supporting HiDef music over Bluetooth 🤷‍♂️. I have the latest flagship 14 ProMax and even when paired with the latest AirPods Pro ll I can only get the ancient AAC codec. Android have supported LDAC and AptX for a while along with earbuds in the same price range as AirPods Pro ll. Apple needs to go back to its roots, it revolutionised music with the iTunes Store, iPod and iPod touch that preceded the iPhone. Music is a staple of most peoples life on the go now, I think it’s an important thing to develop. I personally will be looking to IPhone 15 to do something better with music.

So I have an iphone 8+ i bought back in 2017 and its been working okay till now. Recently - while I was entertaining the idea of an upgrade, I in all my glory somehow managed to burn a charging cable and short out my charge port. I figured upgrading right now is better than repairing it at this point.

So here’s the question: which model should I go for ? I’ve been playing around with the 14 plus and the pro max but not concrete on either of them. I like a big display, brightness isn’t that much of a problem, Definitely yes on a good battery life, I use it mainly for social media, some work and I like a good camera but at the same time dont want to overpay for a dud. Any Advice ?

That’s not how auto brightness works.

Auto brightness uses light sensors to adjust the brightness up or down from where you set it based on how much light is in the environment you’re in. It does not adjust based on what app you’re using.

For example if you have it set at 50% in a dimly lit room and go outside in bright sunlight, it will turn the brightness up to compensate.

The faster way to do what you want is to just use the brightness slider in control centre (pull down from top right) before/after playing your game.

Music to be separate. If I have music playing to a Bluetooth speaker from my phone, I don’t want every video from FB, Insta, Reddit, whatever, also playing. Or sometimes it’ll stop the music altogether and I have to go back to music to push play again. JFC no! I wouldn’t care too much if iPods still existed, I’d just buy one of those, but they don’t.
