I do seriously hate the look of the white battery pack. I considered spraying it with black vinyl dye but wasn't sure how that would handle any moisture.

With all of the thermal challenges of wireless charging from a battery, maybe they were just like, "Fuck 'Midnight black', we're only selling this in the coldest possible case color."

An apple approved app that tells me if someone is trespassing on my property to try and rob me is not illegal. The app just tells me if there are people in my property and that’s all. I don’t get any of their personal information from the app. So if they want to break the law and try to rob me, I will legally use technology to prevent being robbed.

All a camera is going to do is let me watch them rob me. Police won’t be able to identify them at night. And then I’ve been robbed with no leads to catch them and I won’t get my stuff back.

Common sense mate

I don’t think you’re one to weigh in on whether using something is legal or not. Judging by your post history you won’t give a crap either way. I’d hazard a guess that you know the people trying to steal your stuff.

BLE scanner apps are meant to be used for locating lost devices, not tracking cell phones.

ANYTHING RF is regulated. There is indeed a good chance what you want to do is illegal.

Just get: a dog and some cameras.

When I got my first iPad in college, I got it so my iPhone 4s could share everything faster so when I was on break at work I could still manage to study. My brother made some off handed remarks about me buying a second Apple product and basically called me an Apple sheep. He now has a new iPhone, an iPad Pro, an Apple Watch…… guess that makes me the Apple shepherd

I know the comment might be from a bot but I will give the answer to anyone genuinely curous.

If your device is wet, chances are there's water inside the device. Simply placing it in rice won't do anything because rice grains are way too large to enter the device and suck out the water (even if they weren't, you'd end up with a device full of rice inside. That's worse that a wet device.)
