Hi 👋🏼 Marylander here. It’s a blue crab. Our “state crustacean”. Blue crabs are also found in other areas but Maryland is particularly known for its high availability and an entire food culture around blue crabs. If you’ve never had them and ever get a chance to, I highly recommend it. I’m not sure about the other states. But both our state flag and the blue crab have been featured on drivers licenses for years.

The problem is I never had to worry or think about "training" my TouchID, and I never had to worry about my thumb having different glasses, different hairstyles, different masks, etc.

It's very very very far from "just works" when we have to consider and micromanage Apple's implementation details.

  • Not necessarily when i had my 12 Pro i was at work and some juice splashed on the screen and it instantly turned off and wouldn’t do anything i put it in rice right away and 2 hours later i was back working…Idk that’s just my testament…

I recently went the other way (Samsung -> iPhone) and I'd kinda agree. I think it's maybe specifically something to do with the animation speed, general animations seem a touch faster on my old Samsung than they do on IOS where they have a bit longer of a duration, which makes the Samsung feel more responsive.

The actual smoothness of the screen should be the same between the s23 ultra and 14 pro max though, both use 120Hz screens with 240Hz touch sampling rates.

I can’t relate as my 14 Pro runs beautifully. My work has about 90% of people on iOS but there are a handful on Android and any of the comparable apps just seem half-baked. Anyone switching one way or the other will find things they like and don’t like. I never try to persuade people toward iOS or Android. I always tell them to get what suits their needs first and then their wants.

Smooth animation is secondary to usability. Think if the S23 will be better in terms of application and integration with anything you do. That will give you the answer.
