They had to redesign cases anyway for the last several years due to model changes. What made you think this year would magically be different?
> get one with ugly cutouts
Or they just make them with conductive elements in the case buttons

Or if they only put periscope zoom in the pro max. But it’s still too early to put much weight into rumors, in my opinion. We’ll see what they do when they do it. Or when iOS 17 betas start getting torn down for references, lol

Some interpretations of the “15 Ultra” rumors have it being a replacement or rebranding of the Pro Max. But you’re asking people to speculate on the difference between to models of a rumored redesign…

They can also make the case buttons out of a conductive material…

Waterproofing and the ever present quest to free up more internal space for more components.

Apple and other brands will undoubtedly make cases designed to work with it.

Assuming these rumors are true, than the regular 15 will likely keep regular buttons at least the first years, similar to the rumor that all 15’s will use Dynamic Island this year.

You plug it into a charger until comes back online. Same as always.

Honestly it’s gotten so much better than when it was first introduced. Initially it needed a lot of direct light on the unlocker’s face, now it can do it in nearly no light/little to no light other than my phone screen’s dim glow.
It’s also pretty snappy with unlocking my phone, logging into things, entering passwords etc.

I think someone on a different comment shared a guide for what you need to do for family sharing which is the best bet. But your Apple ID account is not locked to your phone number. You can be authenticated on multiple devices (phones, tablets, watch, computers, AppleTV) you would go into the settings and then the accounts and sign in with the correct Apple ID. You will just need to sign out from what ever ID it was running from before.

iPhone faceid doesn’t use camera, it uses rays to detect face shape so light doesn’t matter

You’re welcome, I’m sure you’ll manage!
If there are no in-app purchases involved, or not so many that you’re not okay just rebuying them anyway, then iCloud Family setup with the two Apple IDs is probably easiest.
Also take a look at setting up a child Apple ID and setting up Screen Time on a child’s device. Particularly managing content and privacy controls.

When I just wake up it sometimes doesn't recognize my face - this is true, and kinda funny.

I just moved to iOS from having Pixel phones with zippy touch unlock and I have to say the 14p FaceID is pretty quick. It's very cool to just pick up the phone and boom it's unlocks without any effort.
Also very fast for authorizing payments and passwords too.

Low light with face up front is no problem. 100% of the time.

Weird experience I had today was that FaceID unlocked with having a full-face motorcycle helmet on. Thought that was weird lol. But yeah generally it works on most cases you'd expect it to. When my face is buried in a pillow is when you'd expect it won't and it really doesn't lol.

Face ID has been fantastic. I currently have an 11 Pro, and previously an XR and I’ve not had any more misfires than I did with Touch ID on the 5S, 6S and 8 that I owned previously.
The Covid mask mandates were a little rough until they pushed out that update enabling Apple Watch authentication, but the newer models don’t require that. They can do an initial unlock with the face obscured (but not payment or other more sensitive authentication).
That said, I miss Touch ID in two specific scenarios
- The option to go directly to the home screen by tasting your finger on the haptic home button.
- Quicker Apple Pay authentication using the same technique
But the overall gains far outweigh those two losses.

The case doesn’t need haptics…
Capacitive is the method of registering input. Haptic is the method of feedback to the user. The case should conduct the vibration just fine unless it’s especially loose or padded for some reason.
