Well, well, for once Brazil is ahead in something.

We have this nation wide for a couple of years already.

Edit: it's not this app from the photo, but one from the government itself.

Absolutely love it on the 13 pro max, only time it didn't work was when I had a cheap screen protector on and it lifted up over the sensor, and as soon as I removed the protector and put a good one on, problem resolved.

I think the only issue I’ve ever had with Face ID is with the detection with a face covering. When my sister or I have a mask on, we can unlock each others phones. Not a big deal and you can always turn off the setting if it’s an issue for you. Never had any problems in low light either.

It works pretty well for me! The only times it consistently struggles to recognize my face is if I'm laying down sideways or if I'm doing something like eating, other than that it's nearly flawless.

Bonus is if you have an Apple Watch and you're wearing a mask, the watch can unlock the phone even with your face covered. Super convenient when I'm out in public and don't want to remove the mask every time to unlock my phone.

To those saying this has never happened to you, I don't blame you. Maybe you just never pay any attention to it. A week ago I decided to observe how my 14 Pro would respond to touch, and what OP says is unfortunately right. iOS imo has some sort of responsiveness problem sometimes. I've never noticed it before until when I started paying close attention to it. So I would advise if you do not have any problem with it please don't look for it and just enjoy your phone.

Face ID is as good, if not better than TouchID. Generally the gesture based features are much more modern, than the button or haptic button. While they were reliable, Face ID doesn’t disappoint.

It’s amazing, I came from a Galaxy s20+ and its a whole new world. Only times it tends to fail is if I’m backlit and sun shines in the lens (easily fixed by blocking the sun with my body or turning) or if I’m wearing sunglasses. It usually doesn’t have a problem with sunglasses, but sometimes it does. You can add a secondary look though, so I could just save one of me with sunglasses and take care of the issue, I’m just lazy and it doesn’t happen frequently enough for me to care lol

It even recognizes my face when it’s inside my motorcycle helmet AND (sometimes) wearing sunglasses. It’s great

I’m a Pixel enthusiast too (6a here), and FaceID is excellent. Works in nearly all situations unless your face is obscured by something other than glasses. Works with sunglasses too.

Most people don't seem to have problems with the battery life: https://www.reddit.com/r/iPhone14Pro/comments/121qr80/battery_life_on_the_14_pro/ If there was a widespread battery problem with the 14 Pro, you'd be seeing a lot more complaints on posts like that.

That said, there can sometimes be general battery issues:

  • Social media and music apps can be battery-sucking vampires. If you see poor battery life, check to see which apps are eating your battery (you should have had your iPhone at least a day before checking).

  • Indexing. Not only does your iPhone try to find individuals in your photos, but they're also sorted into categories like animals, food, vehicles, art, music, and others. Your email and text messages are also indexed. Depending upon how much stuff you have, this can take anywhere from moments to a couple days or more, and this indexing will eat your battery while it's ongoing. Your iPhone will be a bit warm while this happens but it shouldn't get hot. Your battery life should return to normal after this.

This indexing happens at each major iOS upgrade (e.g., 15->16), but it can also sometimes happens during an intermediate X.Y upgrade. (It basically happens whenever Apple thinks it needs to happen.)

  • Bugs. Bugs happen. For example when I upgraded from 16.2 to 16.3 (or one of the earlier point releases -- I forget which), my iPhone got hot pretty quickly after the upgrade, even though I wasn't doing anything with it (iPhones can normally get hot when playing games, for example). I did a soft reboot, and everything's been fine since.

Been like this from iOS 16.4 beta 1 through official. Cannot find a fix. Searched the web but it seems few people use beta so nobody was talking about it. My suggestion would be subscribe to Netflix or stop watching p***n on your phone and use your laptop ;)

There used to be a bug far back on iOS i-forgot-which where videos were all audio no video and the fix was to adjust the experimental features in Safari settings. I tried tweaking them a bit but no dice. You can try, but I don’t think it will work for this one.
